Mildly humorous, mostly forgettable.
| Although it has been advertised as "Lashou Shentan 2", this movie has nothing to do with the original "Lashou Shentan", aka "Hard-Boiled". Except maybe for the fact that a hospital room blows up at the end, after some very weak fight scenes. Tam plays a cop who has to locate a blood donor for the "Daka Lama," shot in an assassination attempt by a horde of killer flight attendants, on orders from a maniacal Japanese terrorist. Lau''s girlfriend has been caught in the crossfire and also needs the same type of rare blood as the Lama. Lau and Tam team up to find Eric Tsang, the only donor still alive after the terrorists systematically eliminate the rest. Some unavoidable humor courtesy of Tsang, and Lau surprises with his comic abilities as well. Still, it''s mostly forgettable. |
