Great quality show
| I was addicted to the series when it was first shown in Singapore 13 years ago and had searched high and low for the video/VCD/DVD with no avail until I stumbled on this last year. Bought it and did not regret it. The digitally remastered version offers crisp image viewing and lots of satisfaction because it now has English subtitles (although quite poorly written, but they get the point across). I won't repeat what the other reviewers have said re the contents and quality of the show but I would note that the last disc is not digitally remastered. Initially I had wondered if my disc was faulty but after checking with YesAsia, it turns out the entire batch did not have the last disc digitally remastered. Not sure if this is an oversight on the part of the producers of the edition but the difference in image quality between that last disc and the first 49 discs is quite stark so do be prepared for it if you get the product (which I would still highly recommend!). |

New series?
| What year did this come out? Does this series have any "wuxia" elements in it? Or is it just plain drama? I saw two other TV series, one called The Legendary White Snake which takes place after she gets imprisoned in the pagoda where Green Snake and White Snake's son journey together to free her and the other one was The Serpentine Romance, which I think is the best White Snake classic adaptation. Both had plenty of swordplay/martial arts action to accomodate the excellent storytelling. I really want TVB to release The Serpentine Romance on DVD w/ English subtitles, I think that was the best adaptation of White Snake. And I can't find it anywhere.. |

Hi... I bought this DVD, the story is great, but pity, there is 1 disc damaged / defective, I cannot play it. I dissapointed, and the 1st I accepted the item, the sealed was tear, seems that it's not brand new item (second)... but I love the story much!!! so, I need help or responsibility from Yesasia about the DVD problem.. |

| As i have seen so many good comments on this series, so i bought it last month. I could not drop it, it is one of the best series i have ever seen so far. all the main characters especially Cecilia Yip and Angie Chiu portraited themselves nicely and beautifully as the heavenly couple. very addictive, i must agree. this series can be watched time over time over time again. |

So worth your money

| This is definitely a collector's item. This is THE OFFICIAL DVD release of "Xin Bai Niang Zi Chuan Qi (aka New Tale of Madam White Snake)" by the original Taiwanese production house, CTTV. The picture quality is SUPER-DUPER clear and so is the crispy audio. Each DVD disk comes packed with 2 episodes with a menu for selecting (or deselecting traditional chinese subtitle). I have been waiting for this official release of this tv-series for such a long time. I'm so glad I didn't get the China DVD version (which cost just 5 dollars less) because now the wait is just worth it. Once again, this is THE OFFICIAL version of this blockbuster tv-series featuring Angie Chiu and Cecilia Yip in the main cast. Get this now before it disappears if I were you. If you guys love this movie, it will be worth your money. Even if you haven't seen this movie before, this DVD set will promise to deliver the best presentation of this mega 50-episodes tv-series. It can't get any better than this (well, unless of course YesAsia offers a price reduction...):) This was and always will be one of my all-time favorite TV-Series from Taiwan/Hong Kong. Watch it and be addicted. |
