The Legend of Wisely stars Sam Hui as Wisely (or Wai Si Lei), a famous adventurer not unlike Indiana Jones, who travels the globe in search of artifacts of mystical and otherworldly origin. Wisley is hired by a billionaire to locate his childhood friend, David Ko (Teddy Robin Kwan, who also directed), who's stolen a mysterious artifact called the "Dragon Pearl". But there are other people after the Dragon Pearl. Besides the billionaire, a cabal of monks and a powerful triad leader (Di Lung) make their interest known, and Wisely finds himself caught between the various factions. But only one of the groups has the Pearl's best interests at heart, and Wisely must protect the Pearl from the others lest its untold power fall into the wrong hands! Co-starring Joey Wang and Blackie Ke Shou Liang, The Legend of Wisley is a grand adventure with stunning international locations and heart-stopping cliffhanger action!
The Legend of Wisely is based on a character created by author Ngai Hong, who has seen his creation adapted into numerous film and television productions. Aside from Sam Hui, the character was essayed by Chow Yun Fat in the horror-comedy The Seventh Curse, and by Andy Lau, who played the character as "Wesley" in the 2002 special effects blockbuster The Wesley's Mysterious File.
