I see robots but where have the humans gone?
|
Burdened by the pressure to please all audiences, the Wachowski brothers ended up disappointing most. Of course there were the brilliant fight scenes and ballistic shoot-outs but at some points it was so melodramatic that I thought I was watching an old rerun of General Hospital interspersed with bits of Walker Texas Ranger: Year 2500. Obviously, I am no film critic or scriptwriter but I have been a fan of the Matrix since the beginning. That is why it pains me to say that the storyline could have been much more creative. Instead the last film of the Matrix trilogy turned out to be an unimaginative culmination of too much hype, a fear of doing the unexpected and not giving audiences something a little more refreshing. The acting is average as with the other two Matrix films. Sure, Keanu Reeves looks like the definition of coolness in the shiny black trench and the sunglasses but his words are so hallow that I started to suspect that he is really a reincarnation of the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz. It must either be that there is a rule in the Matrix that outlaws any hint of emotion or that those evil robots have taken over the bodies of humans because the acting is so devoid of any real sentiment that even Reeves looks good in comparison. Still, while I have been harsh enough with the comments, I would still recommend this film to anyone who has seen the first two of the trilogy. Last words: Don't watch it for the Oscar worthy acting or scriptwriting. Rather do it for the stellar special effects and always encapsulating battle scenes. |

Gun Buster Blowout Special
| I Saw the latest and the greatest Matrix film. "Matrix Revolutions" And I was overwhelmed by the action and the animations. The Robotics were something right out of a Japanimation movie. You get to see battles fought inside computers, then it shifts to battles fought under ground, and finally, above ground. It Beats Star Wars, Babylon 5, and all the rest! A full motion Hot Flashing extravaganza! |
