Alec Su rose to fame with his Princess Returning Pearl, co-starring Vicky Zhao, and now he takes up a similar role with popular Korean actress Jang Na Ra in the hit period drama The Mischievous Princes (a.k.a. My Bratty Princess and Diao Man Gong Zhu). Alec Su plays a young emperor who always sneaks out of the Palace, partly to tap public views on the royal court and partly to enjoy some freedom that he cannot have inside the Palace. He comes across a girl (Jang Na Ra), actually the princess of the previous dynasty, who loves to hang around dressed in men's clothes. They fall in love with each other - but the ex-princess seems too energetic to be confined in the Palace! Filled with hilarious jokes and splendid action, this is an entertaining drama series suitable for all!

Love it!!

This series is certainly enjoyable!It is a humourous and heart-warming series which is a must watch! I liked the way the story goes. Compared to other series I have watched the story seems to be out of the ordinary. I never regreted watching it ! I feel it is really good and I ( as a Alec Su Fan) cannot get enough of it. I just keep re-watching it! I would highly recommend this series! Have fun watching! : ) |

Very entertaining
| I find this drama really entertaining. I have not watched Princess Huai Yu so I am unable to make a comparison between the two. The plot is simple and it is considered very fast pace for a period drama. I am plesantly surprise to see that Alec Su can act well in a comedic role. One disappointment that I have is the dubbed voice (not only Jang Na Ra but everyone). In certain talking scenes between Alec Su & Jang Na Ra, you can see that there's a delayed response from the two of them. I believe this is due to the fact that they are not speaking the same language. This makes their expressions a little unnatural. Overall, it is worth watching if you are not too particular with the dubbing. |

totally rawks~!

i thot that alec was already super funny as the judge in Pai An Jing Qi and it seems that he has outdone himself and proven to be a comedic as well as serious actor as well. Similarities between that of Princess Huai Yu are very distinct from the beginning but that should not stop u from enjoying the characters and the story. There are some different characters here noticibly the evil cocubine played by Florence Tan - she manages to carry it off mostly although she does sometime end up more whiny that a horse~! Acting wise - jang nara is ok, abit hard for viewers to get her full emotion since she's dubbed and umm speaks korean, but a valiant attempt. Alec su is great and funny as the Emperor, managing to balance the serious with the humorous - results are hilarious. Overall the story plot is not much of an award winning one but its worthwhile your time if u want a drama that provides great laughs and decent drama all rolled into one~! *For alec fans - IT'S A MUST-BUY~!* |

Hmmm Sounds familiar
| This seems like a cheap rip off of princess Huai Yu, the story is so simliar, princess from previous dynasty with same personailty saved by the enemies general, a king who is unhappy, his rival is also the son of a baron, the queen being too protective over her niece, even the name of the charactors are simliar. Have they really run of ideas, check out my new film Legend of the Chicken Shooting Heroes or Wan Zhu Gor Gor |
