Never a dull moment! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
"New Legend of Shaolin" starts with the usual premise: Evil Qing rulers burn down Shaolin Temple; righteous rebels fight back. But Wong Jing dipped deep in his bag of tricks to tell this version of the story with a lot of style and verve.

Jet Li, Deanie Ip, pretty Chingmy Yau, and the child who plays Jet Li's son all are terrific in this film. "New Legend" also is blessed with a great indestructible bad guy who keeps popping up in a goofy silver, armadillo-like vehicle.

Wong Jing serves up one of his best, most coherent stories here. For lots of spectacular, silly, action-packed fun, "New Legend" is the movie for you.

Kiddish but cool Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Jet Li & Xie Miao make an awesome father/son team so if you enjoyed this one you'll definately enjoy My Father's a Hero. There's a little of everything in this well rounded movie; kung-fu action, comedy, touch of romance & heroism. It is a kiddie movie with the whole armadillo car thing but adults can find some amusement in the sexual connotations sprinkled through-out e.g. "wonder screw". Anywho, enjoy!

Hung hei kwan and Hung Man Ting Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
i love this film it is the best ever my favourite part is when "Hung Man Ting" who was played by : Miu Che and his mandarin name is Xie Miao) when the shaolin kids start's to pick on Hung Man Ting and asking Man Ting to fight is friends and the end part when Hung Hei Kwan and Man Ting fight the monster Ma Ling Yee) played by Gai Chun Wa . Hung Hei-Kwan who is played by jet li ( cantonese name : LI Ling-Git and mandarin name Li Lian, , Gai Chun Wa, red bean played by Chingmy Yau that always trick people for money, her mum ( granny) played by /Chu Siu Sin her enlish name is Deannie Yip Yip and Ng Man-Tat played the rich guy with is son they are all good actors but this film is not so good! i think that letter to daddy is a better film than this one. Even ough this is a old fashion film is still fast paced kung fu and good film why does Xie miao always in evey film that i see that he is Jet li father! . Miu Che is a very good at martial art and he is a very good kung fu actor that he is so small as well he is a very strong mind kid. i think che miu ( xie miao) they always make a good pair .

Another great film Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I thought I would never find another film just as good as Fong Sai Yuk or Once upon a time in China but after watching this film I would say that this is one of his best films he has made in the early 90's.

I've never seen kid kung fu before. Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Not long ago, I saw "Kung Fu Cult Master" by Jing Wong. I loved that movie. It is probably the best kung fu movie I've ever seen. It didn't take me long to desperately search for movies like that. My search led me to "New Legend of Shaolin". "New Legend of Shaolin" stars Jet Li and Chingmy Yau. Both also star in Jing Wong's "Kung Fu Cult Master"(which is why I bought it). I didn't like "New Legend of Shaolin" quite as much as "Kung Fu Cult Master". Probably because of the all the kids acting in it. I've never seen kid kung fu before. It was alright, but alot more light hearted. I thought it took away from what good of been a more serious film. There are very serious moments, but with the kids doing goofy things(and some of the adults), I think it lightens the overall tone of the film. Nonetheless, I was pleased after watching it. You can definately tell it's a Jing Wong film. With over-the-top martial arts and a crazy villain who has "invincible kung fu". I gave it an 8 out of 10. Two less than what I gave "Kung Fu Cult Master". It's a great movie!
