Disappointed

Hi I waited sometime to watch the DVD and I was disappointed that it only have only the Chinese language. What happen to the English??? I am also waiting to see the closing Ceremony DVD.I wonder if that will have English?? I watch the shows on the BBC here in the UK and their commentaries was very good. Maybe CCTV should have used the BBC sound track for the English part of the DVD instead of no English at all. Is there going to be another version made available soon??? |

TVB version is the one to get.
| Just viewed the TVB version, in HD. Very clear pix, lots of details I missed from the CCTV one. Very pleasant and informative commentaries by Do Do Cheng and Harkin Lee. One more plus to this set, however, if the commentaries are subtitled or closed Captioned. |

| CCTV didn't do a good job and just like the NBC version cut various scenes out. However at least we don't have to listen to the biased comments like the NBC version. Save your money and wait for the TVB version. That version is the best one, even better than NBC. |

Poor excuse for a dvd

This is terrible quality!! Folks, if you are expecting DVD quality this is not. Looks like CCTV really rushed to get this out the door, and to another reviewer's point, there is no English on this DVD at all. Save your money, and wait for the NBC version, or better yet, I'm sure someone is gonna put this out on Blu-ray. I'm using my as a coaster. |

CCTV has done a bad job on this set. Not many commentaries, jumpy cuts.... No English version as it claims to have! A poorly-done and hurried-up prodution. Not fair to the purchasing public! |

The picture quality is good. But CCTV cut lots in the important entertainment scenes, and made its dvds becoming less interesting. I felt boring and sleepy while I was watching the 2 dvds last week. Hongkong TVB tv program (Fei Tuy Toi) was much better (interpreted by DoDo Cheng and Heckin Lee). The sound quality, the background music, the angles of shooting the photos, the color and lighting, more beautiful firework scenes, the detailed explanation... are better (you'll find the "Printing" dance shown much much better than in CCTV dics, also the easy-to-read lyric and lecture speech were subtitled). I was so involved and enjoyed the whole program. I hope Yesasia will have the TVB version in stock soon so I can buy an original one. Thanks for reading! |
