A human story about a country's coming of age Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
"The President's Barber" is one of the finest political allegories ever committed to film. What makes it such a splendid achievement is that its allegory is buried within a warmly human tale, a story about a humble and somewhat slow-witted barber who is plucked from obscurity to become the President's barber. What might have been a fortunate turn of events turns disastrous when the barber's only child, a sweet little boy, becomes swept up in a witch hunt for North Korean collaborators. This powerful tale is by turns sweetly comic, heartbreaking, heroic, and, ultimately, uplifting. Song Kang Ho, as the barber, gives a toweringly good performance. Don't miss this wonderful film! (Please note that I watched a Korean DVD of this movie that had English subtitles.)

Another good movie starring SONG KANG-HO. Good comedy that takes place during the PARK JUNG-HEE era.

A normal story/person turn out to be special one Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Normally I just watch romance/comedy. I don't I'll get this title in this cover (look mysterious & boring that I won't be interest in). However I did accident bought this serie in different cover the barber with his son, actually I think the other cover is better too. Anyway, what I want to say is that the movie is really good, not boring at all (even to a person who're not interest in political). Also it's very touching story, wonder if everything is real. Not for those who are "dating" ~ No love story.
