興林國國君妙莊王（劉丹）因滅佛而觸怒上天，以致膝下無兒，只有三女。大女妙心（吳君如）和次女妙元（廖安麗）性情善妒；三女妙善（趙雅芝）天資聰穎，極具巧思，愛國愛民，被妙莊王視為皇位繼承人。惟善生就慧根，崇尚佛法，不慕俗世名利，後更因拜佛而與妙莊王發生衝突，終離宮遁跡佛門。
雲天朗（任達華）為忠良之後，欲殺妙莊王，替父報仇。朗巧遇善，為之傾心，惜她一心向佛，堅拒其愛。
時興林國大權為國師把持，民不聊生。善不畏艱辛，上七重天取羊脂白玉瓶以救蒼生，國師聯同滅世魔尊合力阻止。魔尊以妖火焚城，善不敵，而妙莊王亦被打下十八層地獄。究竟善能否戰勝魔尊，拯救萬民和父親，繼而得道成「觀世音」？

Goddess of Mercy, Kuan Yin :)
| This is one of my most fav. TVB series. I saw it when I was a kid, and have always like it. I was sad when the tape broke and I couldn't see it anymore. I was searching in yes asia, and so happy to see it out on VCD, so immediately brought it. Angie is so pretty and sweet and kind in this series. Every cast did a great great job. It is a must have for Angie's fan. And not to mention the song, it is just sooooo good. This series is worth the money. Hope you will enjoy watching it and hearing the song as much as I do :) |

The reincarnated princess
| Disappointed with this serial especially the actress who acted as the reincarnated princess! She was so "fake" in action! Lisa Wang would be a better choice for the role. |

| this movie is the best i see since child.i still have the video.because i kept to long the quality is not good anymore.im so happy i can find in yesasia.all my friend say this movie they love it!they have a good actress,and good stories.for you guys never see this movie,you have to see it. |

Angie is a good actor

i don't agree with the comment made by Li Li Hwa for the rating in this drama. ANgie chiu is a good actor.Angie's role in this drama is supposed to be gentle,kind and talk a lot,and i think she did a good job at that. The only thing that probably bad about this drama is the storyline and the other actors ruined this drama, the story is a bit boring and other actors aren't that good. |

Reincarnated Princess
| The reason for such poor rating is that Angie's performance is really rigid and no improvement since her first serial " Heavenly sword and dragon sabre". Also, too much dialogue and too slow going... which made the show bored to me. Perhaps for those who had watched Shaw Bros classics " The goddess of mercy" by Li Li Hwa will agreed that the latter is a better choice. |
