三原火山爆發時弄醒了沉睡的哥斯拉，牠為了補充能源，先後襲擊了一艘日本漁船及蘇聯的潛航艦。日本政府反對運用核武，皆因會連累無辜的市民蒙受死傷。於是出動超級火戰機正面跟哥斯拉交鋒。同時，林田博士亦發現了哥斯拉會受一種電波影響，並且會隨它歸巢。因此打算讓哥斯拉隨電波掉進火山口，並且將哥斯拉殲滅。

A volcanic eruption woke up, Godzilla, the giant monster that raided Tokyo 30 years ago from underground. Godzilla lands on Tokyo and wreaks havoc, buildings crumble and streets burst into flames. A bioscientist Hayashida finds out that Godzilla responds to the supersonic waves emitted from migrant birds. He then plans to lure Godzilla to a volcano and bury it in the crater.

Boo! Not anamorphic! Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
I haven't watched this whole disc yet, but I was *unpleasantly* surprised to discover that, unlike "Biollante", this movie is not anamorphic. Since it's also subtitled, that makes it hard to watch properly on a widescreen TV.

Unfortunately, it's practically the only DVD version of this movie available, but if you're on the fence about this one, and have a widescreen TV, you might want to take a pass and hope that a better version is released before too long.

 A welcome return! Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
Beofre any moans about artistic merit, I watch these films with my nephew and the reveiws are based on enjoyment! We have no problem with the subtitles and soon forget the films are in Japanese.
This was a good film, Godzilla was back, big and bad, no clowning around. Detruction was his main aim and Earth's only defence are the usually ineffective army, a small bubble shaped aircraft - the super X- packed with misslies and lasers and last, but not least, bird calls!
There is a great battle between the Super X and Godzilla in the city and the big green guy goes down - but not out! Skyscrapers are toppled and people flee and what looks to be a full size godzilla foot stomps the ground.
Our only chance is to lure Godzilla into a volcano by enticing him with the bird calls!

Godzilla's eyes are bit big to look real, very cartoony, but we know it is a guy in suit we just enjoy the entertainment.
There is also a really cheesy Godzilla song at the end.

soft picture,english subs are combined on the screen with chinese subs,would have been better seperately.
Get this only if you cant find an english US version, otherwise pass it up.
