The "chasing girls" formula returns in The Romancing Star 2, a direct sequel to the hit comedy The Romancing Star! Chow Yun Fat leaves his buddies Eric Tsang, Stanley Fung, and Nat Chan Bak Cheung to their own devices, so the first thing the trio do is get taken hostage in a bank robbery! The trio makes it onto TV, which equals instant celebrity, but the big station in town won't give them a job. Enter Andy Lau, who gives the guys their own talk show on a rival station, where they beat up their guests for being annoying. Meanwhile, a trio of comely females (including Elizabeth Lee and Carina Lau) move in next door, and the chase is on! Like the first Romancing Star film, The Romancing Star 2 is rife with movie parodies and random silliness, but this sequel also mercilessly spoofs the Hong Kong television industry, and many popular TVB serials from the time. Fun laughs, pretty girls, and utterly agreeable hijinks are the ticket in The Romancing Star 2!

With his wit and inborn gag talent, Liu Pat turns the station's programmes tremendously vivid and colorful, bringing more and more audience turning to Channel 9. However this makes the boss of Channel 8 very angry, he orders to get back the audience by hooks or by crooks……
