　　本片由張徹導演兼與倪匡聯手編劇，午馬聯合導演，於1976年拍攝，並為張徹兩大乾兒子傅聲與戚冠軍領銜主演，分飾少林高手方世玉與胡惠乾。故事描述武當派敗類白眉道人、馮道德、雷老虎等，勾結清廷，甘受驅使來殘殺武林中人，方世玉之父母方濟亨、苗翠花，胡惠乾之父皆為雷等所殺；胡一次尋仇不遂，為方所救，後隨方往少林寺練就高強武功……影片最後少林與武當之武林自相殘殺的畫面，出現一幕令人怵目驚心的大結局……

　　The famous story of the Shaolin Temple's betrayal by the White-Browed Hermit, and the subsequent revenge by Shaolin firebrand Fang Shih-yu, is the stuff of legend. It has been filmed many times by many directors, but few are remembered as fondly as this production. The potent combination of director Chang Cheh and international idol Alexander Fu Sheng caught lightning in a lens (thanks to action instructors Hsieh Hsing and Chen Hsin-yi... Not to mention talented co-director Wu Ma).

This is definitely not Chang Cheh's masterpiece:- Too many recaps of past incidents led to confusion. I prefered his earlier release "The Hero" which is also starred by Fu Sheng.

Quite disappointed the way Chang Cheh directed this movie:- Too many recaps of the past incidents which at times could confused the viewers. As for the actors, Fu Sheng is adorable and Chik Kwan Juan is rigid as usual, but both demonstrated their highly skilled kung fu. Overall, still ok for viewing.
