螳螂拳是清初拳師王郎在研究螳螂捕蟬運用兩臂劈，砍、刁、閃的捕鬥技巧而創編的一種象形拳法，後王郎入少林寺3年，向寺僧傳授螳螂拳法，本套路剛柔並濟，長短互用，手到腳到，貫穿緊湊，節奏明快，勁整力圓，周身相合同，勾接纏封，變化無窮。
The Mantis Quan a pictograph boxing which created by Wang Lang, a master who research the fighting skill of cutting, chopping and twisting when the mantis catching cicadas, and then Wang Lang came into Shaolin Temple for three years and instruct the mantis boxing to monks. This routine contents both firmness and softness, uses short thing and long thing, hands and feet, compact and clear, the whole force is round, the whole body coordinates and change unstop.
