In 1973 , police were dispatched to a remote farmhouse in Texas and made chilling discovery the butchered remains of 33 people . the horrifying scene , considered by many be the most gruesome mass murder case of all time , shocked the country and generated sensational headlines newspapers nationwide . The killer brandished a chainsaw and wore grotesque masks declare they had their killer , who became known forever as “Leatherface”.
In the years that followed , however , many close this gristy murder case would come forward to level accusations that police had botched the investigation and knowingly killed the wrong man . Now , for the first time , the only known survivor of the killing spree breaks the silence and reveals the truth about what happened along that deserted rural highway .
