Directed by Hung Hung, fanciful sci-fi romance The Wall-Passer holds up the Taiwanese cinema tradition of youth arthouse. This quirky, stylish film follows 17-year-old Tye (Chang Yung Cheng) who lives a humdrum life with his parents. Forced to evacuate after an earthquake on planet G40, they move to Reality City where Tye continues his bored routine of daydreaming and playing on his computer keyboard. One day he discovers a special rock that affords him the power to pass through walls. Soon after he meets and falls in love with a deaf alien girl (Lee Chia Ying). When she mysteriously disappears, he traverses the world looking for her with the help of his magical rock. This strange and strangely philosophical fantasy is scored by Liu Chi Ling, who brings just the right musical tone and backdrop to the film. The VCD comes with the music video for the film's theme song, which is composed by popular band Sodagreen and performed by Jozie Lu.
