I was pleasantly surprised by this CD! I really like it a lot. Her voice is a bit lower than I typically enjoy (she's an alto, not a soprano), but it's GORGEOUS and well-trained. Why did I give this CD only a 9 out of 10? Because "Our Song" is all in English, and as an American, I buy Japanese music to hear Japanese...if I wanted English, I could buy something here in the States. But, that's only my personal preference. The music is top-notch (although a bit on the mellow side...I'd like to hear her do some more up-tempo songs) and the singer is amazing. I also must praise her (and I was SO GLAD) that some of her lyrics are faith-based. I was listening to the CD and heard on "Little Beat Rifle" her sing about God watching over us. I am proud of her for putting a song about God on a regular mass-market CD. I like Christian singers, and apparently she is one. I was SO HAPPY. Unfortunately, I think that song falls short musically...but the lyrics are my favorite. Musically, my favorite song is the very first one. Although "Everything in Our Hands" is excellent also. Basically, the whole CD is superb and if you are looking for a quality recording...buy this! You will not be sorry in any way.

Chihiro Onitsuka Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
Music - The songs of Chihiro are similar to American Rock/Alternative. If I could compare an artist, I would say JEWEL. Although her voice is soft, it's also medially deep (not the cute, high pitched kind), but calming. Her songs are not catchy, but takes a while to get used to (about 2 weeks of listening). Once the ear is opened to her kind of music, however, it's like unearthing a treasure of gold to your ear. Not exactly exciting pump-up pop songs, neither is a hard rock, but soft songs like DIDO.


Booklet - The booklet is full of high quality eye candy. The papers itself feel like leather, hard to rip, and not the glossy kind, sort of like your plastic 3 ring binder kind. The pictures are vibrant with color and incredibly sharp! The CD is so beautiful (background pictures of cherry-pink flowers, beach sand, chihiro in a large farm-like place, tropical magical jungle, etc.), it's worth paying $17.99 JUST for the booklet. Simply Outstanding!

CHIHIRO ONITSUKA IS FOR REAL !!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
After hear hearing about 20 seconds of 'Innocence,' from the Applied Materials tv commercial, I could'nt rest 'till I learned who she is, and how to get my hands on her music. 'This Armor' arrived in the mail today, and it is equally as stunningly beautiful as is 'Insomnia.' I can't get enough of this girl's music. Incidentally, I am American, (male,48) and I do not speak Japanese.
