Girls' Generation Mini Album Poster
Girls' Generation Mini Album Poster
(2)Our Price: US$10.99List: US$15.99Save: US$5.00 (31%)Related promotions:September 1, 2009 Gee Whiz! The Girls' Generation "Gee" poster is not printed on high quality, shiny, smooth, lamenated paper. Instead it is printed on regular paper and it will be shipped in a very sturdy poster tube that protects the poster efficiantly. Due to promotions Yesasia offers, certain posters come with a free present. This item is one of them. When I ordered my poster it came with a free poster of the "Boys Over Flowers" OST shipped in the same poster tube of "Gee". Right now the "Gee" poster will come with a free poster of "Genie", which is a very good deal and a steal. I warn all potentail buyers not to expect a high quality poster, but as a fan of Girls' Generation I recommend this poster to other fans. It serves it's purpose as a collectible and a nice poster to frame and hang on your wall. Like I previously stated, the poster tube Yesasia will use is good, and the free poster will be shipped in the same tube. The size of the poster is medium-sized and will be a great addition to any fans' wall. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

August 12, 2009 Talkin' bout A Revolution"Revolution" is a slight departure from the candy-coated music Kara first established with their 1st mini-album "Rock U". It is musically still in the same vein of their past hit's "Pretty Girl", "Rock U", & "Honey". However, the tracks on "Revolution" aren't as childish & sugary as their last 2 mini-albums. The bar of maturity has slightly arisen with this release. "Magic", "Wanna", & "Let It Go" are three tracks on "Revolution" that gives the listener a taste of Kara opting for a less youthful direction in their music. However, the cute factor that fans adore in Kara's music is prevalent in the entire album. Kara still sings in their high, cute, shrill voices that they have adopted since "Rock U". "Wanna", the title track, is a fitting song that musically represents "Revolution": the music is more mature, however their voices and simple lyrics is the same Kara that fans have familiarized themselves with from past releases. The majority of the tracks felt either mediocre, bland, or forgettable. It makes the listener wish that DSP (Kara's company) acquired different producers and composers to make more memorable, catchy tracks.
The Special Edition of "Revolution" comes with a photo book & DVD. The photo book, which is about as wide and long and a school notebook, is actually the holder of the CD & DVD. The CD & DVD is held by 2 slits on the right hand side when you first open the book. The lyrics are at the end of the photo's. The photo's in the photo book are printed on high quality paper. However, like the majority of Korean CD's, the booklet itself is of cheap quality; the photo book is glued to the booklet on the right side. Yet, I do recommend the Special Edition for the photo book & DVD. If you are lucky to know Korean, you will be treated to a nice "making of" Documentary for the shooting of the photo book. The photo's in the photo book are nice as well.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Kara Mini Album - Pretty Girl
Kara Mini Album - Pretty Girl
(9)Our Price: US$11.99List: US$16.99Save: US$5.00 (29%)Usually ships within 7 - 14 daysDecember 31, 2008 KARA's True Comeback“Pretty Girl” is a much better comeback than what their last mini-album “Rock U” contained. The title track “Pretty Girl” is a cute bubbly song and is along the same lines as their last release “Rock U”. The sugary electronic synth’s easily get the listener to feel like candy and youthful; a certain trend that KARA is inputting in their music since their 1st mini-album.
If you’re already familiar with the “Pretty Girl” song don’t be deceived by the title track; there are some real gems on this album. The album opens up to “Honey”, a sweet electronic pop song that easily transitions into their hit song “Pretty Girl”.
After the happy, uplifting, and commercial “Pretty Girl” ends, the album gains a whole new momentum as the 3rd song “Yeoreullei” takes over. Instead of another bubblegum, sweet and happy pop song, “Yeoreullei” is an R&B song sprinkled with a dash of pop. This is easily my favorite song on the album and was an un-expected surprise to my ears. “My Darling” is another R&B pop song then the album ends with “I…(Ing)” an R&B/pop ballad that is smooth, mellow, and easy going to the ears. The second half of the album reminded me of KARA’s sound with former member Sung Hee, while the first half of the album coincided with their new cute concept due to new members Hara and Jiyoung.
The packaging of the album is not your ordinary jewel-cased CD. The CD is in a long rectangle shaped case made of cardboard material.
The album booklet is attached to the case, but the pictures for the booklet are superb. The same bright and fun image that is seen on the cover of this album is also inside of the booklet; with pictures containing candy canes, smiles, and make-up portraying what their title song is all about: pretty girls.
I recommend this album to casual listeners and fans alike. From a KARA fan that has been a fan of them since the beginning, a disappointed fan with the new members, and let down by their 1st mini-album “Rock U”, this album is way better than their former mini-album and will make the listener smile and nod their heads to the R&B, pop, and bubble-gum pop sounds that infiltrate their ears.Did you find this review helpful? The Cloudy Dreamer (Mini Album+DVD)(Japan Version)
The Cloudy Dreamer (Mini Album+DVD)(Japan Version) DVD Region 2
(1)Our Price: US$29.99Usually ships within 7 daysJune 28, 2008 A New DirectionAfter her NANA releases OLIVIA comes back and brings her fans a new mini album with 6 new tracks. The album is more along the lines of her inspi REIRA (TRAPNEST) releases so if youre a fan of the music she did for NANA this album isnt too far of a stretch from that. One thing that I didnt personally like about the album was the inclusion of Wish and a little pain. Both songs were already featured on the OLIVIA inspi REIRA (TRAPNEST) and NANA BEST albums. I felt like those 2 songs, even though Wish is sung in English, shouldnt have been included and OLIVIA should have gave us 2 new tracks instead of 2 songs that weve already heard. But other than that the album was cohesive and is sung in English and Japanese. Stars shining out, Whos gonna stop it?, and If you only knew were stellar tracks for me. Dreamcatcher is personally a skip over track and Cloudy World started of interesting but then developed into a typical rock song. Cut me free was a disappointing track. In the chorus when she sings Cut me free I found it annoying with the high pitch of her voice being sung without any harmonies to coincide with it.
This is an evolved OLIVIA. This album is different from her mini-album tryst and the awesome rock album The Lost Lolli. If you favor the darker music shes released in the past youll probably be not too happy with this newer release. The album is more mainstream and pop. Its not experimental and rockier as her previous releases as just OLIVIA, but its wholly inspired by her works under the inspi REIRA name. Overall the album was a good pop record and I was intrigued with this new direction she took. If you purchase the CD+DVD album then youll be happy to finally watch OLIVIA live in concert at in her Chocolate & Confusion (At Shibuya O-WEST) back in 06. The artwork for the album is equally wonderful when you see OLIVIAs critter drawings in her special art book included. The photo shoot for the albums booklet is of course beautiful and artistic. OLIVIA explained in an interview that the 2 doubles of her in the shoot signifies the battle between the mind and the heart. Interesting.

Berry Berry Singles (ALBUM+DVD)(First Press Limited Edition)(Japan Version)
Berry Berry Singles (ALBUM+DVD)(First Press Limited Edition)(Japan Version) DVD Region 2
(1)Our Price: US$39.49February 2, 2008 WonderfulNana releases a "Best Of" album after 2 albums and 1 mini-album. I was a bit skeptical of this release since I figured it was a bit to early for her to release a "Best" album. But to ease the hunger of us fans Nana included "LOVE YOUR MONEY", "Antoinette Blue", and revised versions of "Alice" and "Kesenai Tsumi" to apease us. "Alice" and "Kesenai Tsumi" are turned into rock songs and are far different from their pop counterparts. It is an acquired taste when you listen to the different version's of these two popular Nana songs. They depend purely on if you are a fan of the origianl "Pop" styled music or if you like "Rock" as well. 'LOVE YOUR MONEY" is a cover song originally done by "Daisy Chainsaw". Nana sings in a child-like voice that is reminiscent of fellow J-Rock artist "Kana". The other tracks included in this album are nothing new and can be heard on her previous album's and single's. Though her latest single released before "Berry Berry SINGLES" titled "Antoinette Blue" is included as well as being an extended version. If you've ordered the DVD version of this album you are in for a real treat. The DVD album includes Backstage and performance footage of her trip to Paris, France and footage of her recording the revised version's of "Alice", "Kesenai Tsumi", and 'LOVE YOUR MONEY". Inside of the booklet is a nice photoshoot of Nana wearing her now trademark lolita styled clothing.
I really enjoy Nana's releases, and "Berry Berry SINGLES" is no exception. I recommend this "Best" album, expecially the DVD footage.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

September 13, 2007 Wonderful SOPHOMORE Album
This was such a great follow-up from SUGARs Double Rainbow album. The same soothing melodies were their, but where Double Rainbow was more soothing and laid back, COLORS 4 WISHES was more upbeat and had a greater variety in the songs. Now dont fret if you fell in love with their first album because it is still their in songs like Heartful, Distance, and USUBENI, but they created more dance tracks like Work It and more mellow up-tempo songs like Kaze to Hanataba and Himawari. Overall this was a wonderful purchase and Im grateful to own both of their Japanese albums. But since sadly this group will not be making music anymore it might be wise to hurry up and grab a copy of COLORS 4 WISHES before it becomes out of print. The cd comes in a fold out case like their first album and contains the photo shoot of the cover of the cd. I prefer the Double Rainbow photo shoot booklet but this booklet is still nice and contains individual shots of the members as well as group shots. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

Queserasera (First Press Limited Edition)(Japan Version)
Queserasera (First Press Limited Edition)(Japan Version)
(1)Our Price: US$15.99Usually ships within 7 daysMarch 9, 2007 Happy!"Queserasera" was a really good follow up from Aimi's first single "Smile."! It has the same influences of the 60's rock upbeat tune like her previous single. The b-side "O Hana Gata No Piasu" fit in perfectly with the single. The combination of guitars, a piano, and a synth was really enjoyable because the song was very easy going and light compared to "Queserasera" ( Not to say that Queserasera isn't light and easy going because it is. ); it fit in wonderfully with the title track. The Limited Edition comes with a glitter headband that Aimi wears in the promotional video for "Queserasera". Unless you are really in dire need of a cheap copy of Aimi's hair accessory I suggest sticking to the normal edition. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)

Honoo no Onna (Japan Version)
February 16, 2007 Get Out Your Glow Sticks?Although I'm tempted to rate this one higher I can't without giving a false review. I love Aimi's happy music, but this single left the guitars and added more synths sounding like happy hardcore techno. The b-side "koi no ochitara" was a little better albeit by an inch. At least the electronic drums weren't as apparent in that song. The only thing positive I can say about this single is the cover of the single. But it didn't make up for the withdrawal I experienced . The techno like song was just so much out of left field, but if your an Aimi fan like I am you will buy this single for the sake of keeping her in the business, and making her to continue to make happy music. For what it's worth, the two songs were happy, I just didn't want to feel like I was at a rave; a very bad one. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Kibou no Kakera (Japan Version)
February 16, 2007 After "Cutie Bunny"This single was just great. After "Cutie Bunny" she gives us the fans more of her pop rock tunes that was so refreshing to hear from her mini album. The lead single can be heard on the Japanese animated cartoon called "Power Puff Girls Z"; a little reminiscent from her first single since it also had a anime tie in with "Full Metal Alchemist". The B-side isn't as catchy as the lead single, but it doesn't water down the overall feel of this single. With the single also comes with a transparent "Power Puff Girls Z" picture. March 16, 2006 At first glance upsetting
This cd single was a blessing unto all Utada Hikaru fans, straying away from her previous sound to something different and experimental. The track is a slow ballad containing guitar instruments throught-out the song. The lyrics are impeccable for those who actually know Japanese when buying this single. Although the single contains only one track, or a DVD if you buy another version, it is worth it if you want some good quality music; with great lyrics and an ample sense of style from a budding artist starting to shine, and experiment more with different styles, and techniques.
