Mouichido Kimi ni (Japan Version)
December 16, 2005 Tourbillon** Three wins Zero loses so far**Tourbillons third single surpasses my expectations again... wow. This single is just amazing and totally different from what they released before. Also, this single was written by Ryuichi** I think that was quite interesting what they did with these three singles. Mou Ichido Kimi Ni is alos the theme song to some drama. Mou Ichido Kimi Ni is track one, and it is an amazingly beautiful ballad that left me breatheless the first time I finished it. It is also the longest song that Tourbillon has released thus far, coming in at 7:07. This song is so beautiful lyrically and also musically and is perfect for the winter time, it really sounds like a winterly love song. It's a very epic song, with an outstanding arrangement of strings. Ryuichi's voice is amazing as usual, and the piano in this song is really great, and you would think that the guitar might take away from the strings and piano but it really doesn't. My favorite part of this song is around 4:30 where there is just an amazing string section that gives me chills. This song is really great and ends on a perfect note. The second track FIORENTINA, is a real big surprise, it's very upbeat and much more rock then what they have done before. It's great that these singles were so different because it really shows off their versitality. I think this might be my favorite Tourbillon song, i've already listened to it 42 times just on iTunes. It's really interesting that Ryuichi wrote this b-track because it sounds like a song Inoran would write but it doesn't matter. Again they incorporate so many things, the awesome keyboard sounds and acoustic guitar sneaks into certain parts, this is a very interesting song and I hope they continue to make this interesting of music, it's a great thing that these 3 came together to make this band. your place (Japan Version)
December 16, 2005 2nd single~Tourbillon isn't wasting anytime releasing things, which is a good thing. This single is very different sounding from the previous one, which is also a good thing. This time 'your place' is written by Inoran, and that's pretty awesome, since the 'Heaven' was written by Hayama. 'Your place' is a very uplifting and happy song, with nice some nice acoustic guitar intelligently intergrated into some parts of the song. This song really reminds me of Luna Sea a lot! I really and truly believe that all of their solo projects after Luna Sea still have reminents of that same sound from that era, because you can also say these same things for the flare (Sugizo's band). Of course they will never achieve that same sound again because they have all grown older and changed, but I really don't think that is what they are trying to do. They are trying to go on down a road branched off of Luna Sea. Anyways, the real surprise on this single is the 2nd track, which is just an instrumental track, hence there are only three tracks on this single instead of the 4 that were on the last one (2 tracks + 2 instrumentals). This is one of the most beautiful pieces on a piano i've heard. Hayama is a great pianist, and there is also violin and some other interesting sounds that add to this track. This is without a doubt one of my favorite tracks that they have released yet! It reminds me a lot of some of Sugizo's solo work pre- Sugizo and the Spank your Love Crew and the flare. Highly reccomended!!! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
HEAVEN (Japan Version)

December 16, 2005 Tourbillon, the whirlwind of the Japanese music scTourbillon took me by surprise. I had no idea what they would sound like but I knew that they would be great having both Ryuichi and Inoran in the band. I wasn't quite sure about H. Hayama though, but he is one who composed the song Heaven, and wow... I was so impressed with his skills and with their sound, the chorus is awesome and all of the instruments intertwine perfectly to create a whirlwind of emotions inside of me. The PV is also very interesting, but more importantly was how it sounded so much like I thought it would but at the same time surpassed my expectations. It has a sound similar to Luna Sea, but more mellow, not nearly the same time of rock, but leaning towards that sound. I really think it is great. Then the c/w track Crisis of my Life is something quite different too. It only four lines repeated over and over, but somehow it doesn't get repeatative... It's quite interesting, and is very dreamlike and nostalgic and the guitar is so fitting. If you close your eyes to this song, it'll take you places far and wide. This song is a collaboration of Ryuichi and Hayama, and it's just awesome. The production on this single is just superb. So if you liked any of their solo works or Luna Sea then give it a try, they are going to be amazing. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
