Quite worth your bucks

This album is a must-buy-item for Mika's fans.. Or if you're not Mika's fans, you can also buy this because the tracks is quite great.. I buy this CD and I've became a Mika's fans! For me, Mika is a japanese singers that unique and not as same as the others.. Here's my opinion - Amazing Grace : This track is not good.. i think she musn't sang in English. Japanese would be better - Will : A nice ballads you wouldn't be boring to hear it in many times - One Survive : A good up-beat song hat will make you survive in your problems - Heaven On Earth : A so so track.. But it's kinda groovy - Destiny's Lotus : An 80's funk song that keepin' trendy and good to hear it. My friend likes this track when she listen to the CD for the first time. - Helpless Rain : An average track. Similar as Heaven on Earth, but a little more slow. - I : This is a middle-tempo (not slow, but not too up-beat) good song! I love it the instrument that played in the opening of the song!! - Tears : A ballads. But "Will" it's better. "Tears" it's good for the opening & middle of the song, but it's kinda boring in the ending because there is Mika'voice talking (in the telephone maybe? I think the background of her voice talking is the rain) - True Eyes : This track is up-beat, similar to "One Survive" - Crescent Moon : A groovy nice song.. - Just Trust In Our Love : This is also my favourite tracks in the CD!! When you hear this song, you can imagine yourself at the cosmopolitan city, with the buildings, the road, parks.. Ahhh so beautiful!! - Stars : A slow one, but it's kinda like an old song - A Miracle For You : Slow song, similar to "Stars". Not very good |

I loved it (no kidding)
| Say what you must, TomokoChan, but I loved this recording. I personally think Mika Nakashima has a voice of rare emotion and beauty, something another of my favorite female singers, the UK's Sarah Brightman, doesn't possess. I actually have the Japanese pressing of this album. The entire album is worth a listen except for maybe track 1, which doesn't hinder its magic and romantic charm. In other words, if you like "classic voices" such as US' Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, the previously mentioned UK singer, Italy's Andrea Bocelli, and singers like that, then I hope Mika Nakashima will hurl you to the floor. She brought me to my knees and tears to my eyes when I discovered her video for 'Stars' in November 2001, and no, I'm not Asian of any kind... |

Nakashima's Voice
|
Her voice is destinctively different than other jpop artists. It's a deep, almost dark chocolately rough yet smooth voice like US's TLC. The songs are easy listening, not POP/Techno or Rock. You are better off buying a single or just listening to her song on the jpop radio. Most of the songs are so-so. Sounds like old disco, somewhat. The cd has a 14 page booklet with color photos and lyrics in a box sleeve. |
