A personal favourite

Two As One is a great song simply because Kuri and the guys go very well together I think. But for me it's even better because of the melody. A lot of people thought it was a stupid melody that sounded simple, but ever since I heard it on the Toyota Wish commercial I was hooked on the easy-going yet strangely addictive jazz tune of this song. Namida ga Afuretemo is a very sweet ballad. Lyrics are simple but love songs don't have to be difficult. At first I didn't like it, but then I sat down and really listened to it when I was relaxing, and now I sing it all the time because it's stuck in my head. The english version of MY EVERYTHING wasn't really needed, but I guess there are fans of Kuri's english stuff out there. I'm just not one of them. I think she sounds great in Japanese, but boring in English. All in all, another great single from Kuri. |

c-kay and chemistry are love
| i LOVE this single! It's amazing! Crystal hits all her high notes perfectly and the CHEMISTRY boys fit in perfectly! She looks beautiful in the PV and we crystal fans couldnt ask for more! The PV leaves us wanting more with a "to be continued..." at the end! we can;t wait for more crystal! don't keep us waiting! |

I usually like a lot of stuff Crystal Kay puts out, even if it is typical JPOP banter...but this is just boring. You get caught up in Chemistry and Crystal Kay's names, but then you realize that the vocals aren't anything amazing. What makes it worse is that the background music is SO hackneyed and played-out that it makes it harder to differentiate from anything that's come out before. I will give it to them that they tried to add more 'soul' to it than some of her recent singles (especially "Koi ni Ochitara")...but I think it fell short. Namida ga afuretemo is better (The 2nd track), but her voice seems a little weak and too high. Or maybe that's just how CK sings, and I'm just now realizing it. It'd be nicer, I think, if MISIA had sung these two songs... |
