カリフォルニアある人口たった67人の寂れた町・バクスター。唯一の売りと言えば巨大なアイスクリームコーンのオブジェくらいだ。そんな退屈に支配された町で、ブルー、ピート、イーライをはじめとする5人の若者達は、飲みたいときに飲み、騒ぎたいときに騒ぐという自由気ままな生活を送っていた。ある日、有害廃棄物を積んだトラックがバクスターで事故を起こす。町全体が検疫の為にFBIの管理下に置かれ、封鎖されてしまう。たまたま名物の巨大アイスクリームコーンを見に来ていたポップカルチャーの教授とその娘・スカイも足止めを食らった。L.A.ではTVスターでもあるスカイは、田舎町自体に嫌悪感を抱いていたのだが、町の若者たちとしだいに打ち解けていき…。
