actually unite is NOT just another EVOLUTION
yeah i know the original unite sounds kinda similar to evolution, but this single shows that the remixes are hot, perhaps even better than the evolution remixes. this single has tons of EXCELLENT dance mixes. the blueberry mix is a very unique one, perhaps my fave. the only thing i hate about this single is the cover; its just plain weird. but the single is GREAT.

Another good Ayu song
Although I like Evolution and several other Ayu songs better, Unite! is still a good one. I like the songs she writes herself best. As someone already mentioned, her singing is getting better, and she sounds great. I actually like the Huge remix better than the original...I listen to it alot.

Unite -- a.k.a. Evolution part 2
First of all, I must say that Ayu is my favorite J-Pop artist and probably will be as long as she stays in the business. After constantly listening to new singles and old favorites, this song is a definate disappointment to me. After listening to it, I noticed how the music was identical to Evolution -- beautiful lyrics and vocals, but same music and instrumentals. Because of this I ask, "Is Ayu becoming the next Britney?" I ask it because the majority of Britney's songs sounds very identical to each other. Hopefully, Ayu will not go in that direction. As for the cover, it doesn't really grab my attention. Last words: The lyrics are great, the vocals are wonderful, the music is very poor.

Same formula?
Ayumi Hamasaki's recent singles after her third album "Duty" have been following a particular similar trend in music style and arrangement. Her latest new single "UNITE!" actually does share a resemblance to her previous hit single "evolution". Both songs possess the same fast hard rock attitude. Due to the close similarity in style, "UNITE!" doesn't seem that much impressive after all. However credits are still given to this song since Ayumi did a pretty good job with the vocals. She sounds really good in the song actually so the overall of the track is still commendable. As with all Ayu singles, there will always be a list of remixes to add flavour to the entire single. But, for "UNITE!", the remixes have very little to offer. They are basically chaotic trance remixes and they become annoying after a while. Strictly speaking, none of the remixes contained in this single is very memorable. "UNITE!", as a whole, does pale in the face of other hot singles from Ayu. An average new song with not much originality and a bland lineup of remixes, "UNITE!" is not exactly one of the best from Ayumi Hamasaki. However, Ayu's vocal performance and the fact that the single actually holds an hour length in time somehow sustain the single's worth in value. Hopefully the next single will fare much better.
