関東屈指の任侠団体、二代目本侠会会長・石井吾朗が病に倒れた。その実子で理事長を務めていた石井龍一は、父に代わって一門一統をよくまとめていた。龍一の横には常に、五分兄弟の眞鍋誠と、龍一が一番可愛がっている頭の切れる舎弟(東大法科、ハーバード大大学院卒)桑名真也がおり、その三人の存在は、誰しもが一目置き、順調に組を大きくしつつあった。そんなある日、本侠会と親戚関係にある関西随一の任侠団体・義道連合との大きな取引の話を真也がまとめてきた。誠は真也の動きにきな臭さを感じており、龍一に注意を促すが、龍一は心配無用と笑って、真也と共に契約に向かった。が、誠が危惧したとおり、真也は罠を仕掛けていたのだ。龍一は警察に逮捕され、それと時同じくして、何者かが、病床の吾朗を襲い命を奪った。誠は修羅となり、真也を追うが。
