A bit expensive
|
This isn't the first time I ave seen Utada United 2006. By far I think her performance vocally was extremely well and perfect. Although Yesasia.com conversion rate to Australian currency was $79.31, I was paying with paypal and paypal converted it into $83.28 which I thought was abit expensive. Anyway, that did not stop me from buying this since I have been waiting for years to buy this. I recommend this DVD to everyone and anyone. |

What, no 5.1 Surround sound track?
|
The video and audio quality of this DVD was a letdown after watching the previous concert’s DVD (Budokan 2004). For one thing, there was no 5.1 Surround audio track, and the stereo track sounded rather harsh. I attended 2 of the concerts on this tour (not the one on this DVD), and although the LCD panels in the background were not exactly blinding, sometimes it bordered on sensory overload, such as on “Traveling” and “Movin’ On Without You”. As for the concert itself, I can’t really give an unbiased opinion, since it was a dream come true just to be there. Also, this DVD does not do justice to her performance of “Be My Last”, accompanied by only a cello. I never really cared for this song, but after listening to it live in person, it changed my mind, and it was way better than what the DVD could convey. It was a shame that there were hardly any shots of drummer Forrest Robinson. I can’t understand why they didn’t showcase him during “Passion” because of the distinctive drum pattern on this song. |

concert could have been better...
| I Love Utada's music. Her concert was aight, it wasn't a great show but she really is an amazing singer, she's got a very flexible and incredible voice but her staging was very lonely. She didn't have background dancers nor any vocalist... she did it all my herself. The big screen in the back probably did blinded alot of people in the audience. I wasn't there but just by watching the whole thing, the screen was the brightest because everywhere was dark and the stage was dark. The camera man could have shown more of her singing to audience. i saw some fans got pretty tired. |

The Best!.....................
|
This DVD is more than a 10 stars. Utada is truly a wonderful artist. In this concert, she is at her best unleashing all the emotions and feelings of her tracks no mater what personalities she assumes. She totally gives herself with more than a 100% to the audiences. To me, she is a down to earth and sophisticated artist, truly one of a kind! The music accompaniment is very good and it is a pleasure to watch how the musicians have all enjoyed their performance with Utada together. I want to thank SarangAsianMusic for recommending this DVD and I agree with everything being said by the review with the exception of Utada's first outfit. It needs some refinement although the basic design is good. The camera men can improve more to give her better shots in her next concert. Don't miss this DVD! |

The Best Concert Ever!!!
The Best Concert Ever!!!
|
I couldn't really care less how much the DVD cost. This is the best concert I've EVER witnessed. Even though the packaging could have been fancier, the concert makes up for it. Even though I had to buy my copy off of yesasia (to get an All Region copy), I'd say that ANY wait on this item is worth it. I'm a die hard Utada fan and I have to say that in this concert, she is FLAWLESS. This concert knows no bounds and every time I rewatch it, it is worth evey penny I spent. There is no price for excellence. |

Best DVD Concert EVER
| I discovered the magic of Utada while on military deployment to Okinawa. I thought i had disassociated myself from pop music long ago but Utada's music had something irresistible about it. It started with Passion and then Keep Tryin'. I could not get enough. So when the album Ultra Blue came out I got my first ever Japanese album in a Japanese Tower Records. Ultra Blue is a perfect album. Since then I have searched the web for everything Utada. The most recent purchase was her 3rd ever tour called Utada United 2006 (DVD). I watch it every frickin' day practically. For the best possible affordable and mobile sound I converted the cd and dvd (audio portion) to flac files and put them on an IAudio U3 with Shure SE530 earphones! The sound is phenomenal. If the Hi Def version would come out I would snatch it up faster than you can say snatch! I don't own an HD tv but this will motivate me to save up. If you don't get this DVD, I don't want to know you. |

Best Hikki Live!
Best Hikki Live!
|
This is the best Hikki live so far, but the only complaint is the bad vocals on performances like "Passion", "Be My Last", and "Distance"! It was so horrible and so ear-piercing. She was struggling so bad!!! However, the rest of the concert was enjoyable besides the "Colors" and "Sakura Drops" lives...she looked like she was in pain and my throat hurt from just watching her. She seemed stressed to do those notes. Buuut...all in all, this concert is pretty good. The stage setup is like nothing I've ever seen before and Hikki is, as always, beautiful & inspirational. She's so lovable, original, and down-to-Earth that it'll make you quick to forgive her for bad performances. She's just so sweet!!! She deserves all the publicity and love she recieves. Hikki is just as amazing as everyone says. Packed with emotion, beautiful lyrics & messages, and an oh-so-sweet Hikki...this concert I greatly recommend! |

Amazing show
| I haven't really been following Utada since her last album in 2002, but this concert sparked up my addiction again :) An amazing show by Utada, best performances in my opinion were Kremlin Dusk and Hikari. |

Good Show! n_n
Good Show! n_n
| The stage setup was AMAZING and there were TONS of people in the audience. Opening video was a bit dull...Utada just stared at you on the screen...kinda freaky. Then, she stepped out on the stage looking as beautiful as ever...but opened her mouth to let out her horrible screeches throughout the "Passion" performance. It sounded very bad...but who blames her? That many people...very 1'st song of the night...so much pressure!!! She was nervous! "This Is Love" was more pleasing...you could tell she was really warming up to the audience. "Traveling" and "Moving On Without You" were very good too! "Sakura Drops" sounded pretty good, but she was straining all the way through...really stressing her voice to sing it...which made my own throat hurt just by watching her! x_x "Devil Inside" through "You Make Me Wanna Be A Man" was completely impressive and amazing!!! However, "Be My Last" was the worst performance of the night. There was no music to cover up her horrible vocals on this song...only the company of one instrument. She screeched and strained all the way through that would make your ears beg for mercy...however, there was alot of emotion. The rest of the concert was smooth sailing and was very enjoyable. She really shined onstage and had the whole audience captivated. She looked so beautiful and was so sweet to everyone, including her bandmembers. Truly a memorable show. |

Must Have!
| Don't look at the price - just buy it. This is the best concert DVD you can buy featuring fantastic fisuals, sound, and of course an excellent two hour long performance by Hikaru. Packaging is a bit boring but who cares! The DVD is what matters. |
