Vanness walks on the solo path again.
After the success of his first solo album Body Will Sing in 2002, Vanness Wu teamed up with Korean star Kang Ta to release a stunning single titled Scandal in 2005. In early 2007, he once again showed his charm with solo concerts in Japan and Malaysia, dazzling the audience with his dancing and singing. Vanness has displayed dynamic presence through the R&B and hip-hop tracks on Body Will Sing, and now he's set to continue his hit streak with his second solo album V.DUBB.
Using his own nickname as the album title, Vanness came up with the music, dance, style, and packaging for V.DUBB all by himself. As for the songs on the album, Never Let You Go has a touch of urban groove, and Mama comes filled with sincere gratitude, while Let Go presents more of Vanness' smooth R&B side. Proving that he possesses that touch of magic with or without his F4 group-mates, Vanness aims for the top once more.

| I love Track 8 - Mama. The lyrics are simply great and it's wonderful to know that he has so much love for his mother. Tracks 1 and 2 are equally good so it's definitely worth buying. |

| I'm usually not that easy to please, and I believe in constructive criticism. But I can't come up with anything negative to say about this. I don't hear a voice sounding whiny, but I do hear some very convincing emotion, which is a welcome change after hearing so many singers who carry a nice tune and have lovely voices but no real emotional impact. I don't think the songs sound just the same as anything else, because Van Wu does have a certain aura about him (thank you, product description), he has that unexplainable "It" thing that makes everything he does seem unique and soul-stirring. Vanness has a voice that can cheer you on your worst day, while his more angsty tracks can take hold of your heart and rip it out of your chest, and actually make you enjoy the feeling. Perhaps I am simply biased because I happen to adore this guy. But really, I don't enjoy an album this much very often. If you like this style of music, I don't see how you can go wrong with this album. |

great songs, lacking vocals
|
i thought the album had really nice songs! especially the 1st track! that song is plain addictive! this is no doubt a dance production as the beats are AWESOME & the tunes addictive, but his vocals were kind of lacking. he sounded kind of whiny in the songs & didnt show off his true potential, because i have heard him sing live & hes not half bad. maybe he doesnt have a good recording voice, but IMO V.DUBB was a really strong album! |

good effort from vanness
|
after his collaboration with kangta last year....i was hoping he'd learn something from him and produce an amazing record....but it just fell short none of the songs were annoying or bad but they weren't amazing either instead of naming the album V.DUBB....he should have named it deja vu....i felt like i've heard all on these songs before and it just lacked personality his vocals could be stronger....especially on the last song....it would've sounded a lot better and after like 6 years in taiwan....he shouldn't say things weird anymore! but i still give him props for trying and his beautiful abs ^.^ |
