Lo Lieh (1939 - 2002) was one of the first Hong Kong martial arts stars to go international. Popular in the 1970s, his King Boxer in 1972 became one of the 10 highest grossing films in the world, paving his way to join Hollywood even before Bruce Lee. Lo joined the Shaw Brothers Studio in 1962, and made over 80 films in his acting career. Among them is Valley of The Fangs, directed by Korean-born Shaw Brothers director Chung Chang Wha (often credited as Cheng Chang Ho). The film sees some dazzling fighting scenes between Lo Lieh and famous Shaw Brothers stars Li Ching and Wang Hsieh. The story of Valley of The Fangs details how a righteous swordsman protects the wife and daughter of a falsely imprisoned court official, escorting the two women to the imperial city to appeal to the emperor.
