Well.. I think this movie has it's own style compares to other movie. Some kind of matrix attire or style? If you know Ryuhei Kitamura's movie, I think you can roughly guess and expect what he does. The violent scenes will never miss out in this movie. Is also fun to watch this movie, and enjoy the scene where he kills all the Zombie.Some scene makes you laugh~ |

Got this from netflix and loved it! Not only does it have good martial arts and an interesting story line attached, but the gun and sword play is tastfully done, in a comically sort of way! Definatly an odd movie (having being influenced by Hollywood), but that is why I crave such foreign films. Classic gore shots with blood splattering on the camera lense and juicy shots of body parts flying thru the air! Loved this film! |

| The start of the movie may not make sense at first, but honestly, how many movies can you tell exactly what the story is about from the first ten minutes? The movies starts out with a rush, which escalates froms there. The action is great, and so is the dark comedy. The movie is a great way to spend a few hours. The only drawback is the end, I didnt care for it much. |

If your looking for a big budget hollywood film then forget it, if your looking to see a great japanese film with budgeted greatness, check out Versus. Versus is a great movie, Ryuhei Kitamura combines martial arts,fantasy and comedy with a hint of story asthetics which run along with it. Ryuhei Kitamura (Director) made this film with a low budget and i feel he pulled off exactly what he wanted to with the finished product. This director is rising in the industry, and it was because of this film that he got to direct the cinematic scenes in MGS - Twin Snakes, he might even be moving across to america to make a few films also, so people must know his talents, and must have seen the potential behind Versus. I recon its a great movie and the 'Ultimate Versus' can only increase the understanding of Ryuhei's telant behind the scenes. Great movie, Great special edition. |
