Rock! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is another Dir en grey's album that I like a lot. Actually I have rated 10 tracks with 5 stars iTunes rating after I upgraded 触紅 from a 3 stars, leaving INCREASE BLUE as the only one track with 3 stars as minimum score.

I know I'm a new fan. I think that Dir en grey's music has matured over the years and this is the way I like them. This album has all rock tracks, not a single rock ballad. But I like it! I don't know why, but Kyo's vocals and Dir en grey's drums and guitars are addictive even though I don't think the music in here are perfect! :)

ENJOY THE VULGAR Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Okay, okay... I know I'm a relatively new Diru fan...so...I should probably just shut my mouth now and take the advice of the older Diru fans, but I need to say something
...because for some reason I've heard a lot of things about fans losing hope in Diru because of VULGAR's release.

Why?
Apparently some say they are becoming more "americanized"...

How are they "americanized"?
Okay, okay....so...they left their Visual Kei background (which is indeed sad), but that doesn't mean they are "americanized"!!
They sound nothing like SlipKnoT...Killswitch Engage...AND THEY ARE NOT IN ANYWAY LIKE MARILYN MANSON!!!!

Anyway, if you really are a true Diru fan...give this cd a chance...don't hate them because they made a few changes...all bands change...you can't stop that from happening.

VULGAR[ism] Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
VULGAR is a special treat for any Dir en grey fan. I love this CD because every track seems to be a definite loud cry from the band's very souls. They shine as musicians on this album. Just listening to the opening track (audience KILLER LOOP) got me excited for the entire album. THE IIID EMPIRE, OBSCURE, KASUMI all blew me away with their intense, but captivating tense melodies and Kyo's emotional harsh vocals. Definitely a must have.

Pretty good. Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I must say, Vulgar is a pretty good effort from Dir en grey, though it is not their best. That title goes to Kisou, in my opinion. But still, Vulgar is a solid album. The opening track, "audience KILLER LOOP" is an excellent opener, preparing you for the crazy tracks ahead. Track 5, "Sajou no Uta" is a break from the harder tracks, which is nice. Track 6, "Red...[em]" is one of my personal Dir en grey favorites, particularly because of Shinya's drum work which seems to go along on its own in the song, but still flows with what the rest of the band is doing. "Kasumi", track 9, is an utterly amazing song... you just have to hear it, I won't explain. Track 11, "Drain Away" is another good Shinya track. Number 13, "Obscure" is a viscious, hard-hitting track, and the video is no different, haha. Lastly in my list is "Amber", a perfect album ender. It's the perfect balance between hard songs like "Obscure" and softer ones like "Sajou no Uta". All in all, the album is not without its share of flaws, but it is a good follow up to Kisou, and provides a number of tracks that remind us Dir en grey fans why we like them so much.

Best Diru album ever!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Anyone that doesn't have this album, should pick up their card and buy it now. I've listened to most of the new album from a torrent, and I've listened to most of the others...this is definitely still the best Diru album EVER. If you have the money, but it now. If you don't have the money, save up for it.

Not thier best, but still amazing Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
A lot of people complain that Dir en grey has 'westernized'. I don't think that they have done so. I think that they have constantly undergone changes as a means of diversifying and broadening their musical abilities. Seriously, for you die-hard fans, compare Missa to Macabre and spot the differences.
I'm only giving this album an 8, because while every track is a masterpiece in it's own way, the album itself as a whole is lacking. Metal, even the best, does get old after a while. I think if they had a long ballad with a mood similar to ain't afraid to die or mushi, this album would have much longer playability. It does have a couple ballads on it, such as Amber and Sajou no uta, but they are still too energy charged to really provide a break from the intensity of the other tracks.
Still, this album is amazing. Not a bad song on it. It's just better in small doses.

This music kicks major ass Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Whoa! This music is so kickass. I like it upon first listen. Dir en grey has improved so much since their Missa era to Vulgar era in terms of musicianship and appearance. This cd packs so many great songs that it is easily the best album of the 6. It has hard rock songs like The IIID Empire, Shokubeni, NEW AGE CULTURE AND Obscureto the pop-ballads Kasumi, Drain Away and Amber to the techno track Increase Blue. So why hesitate, get your ass up, go to the nearest music shop or order online to add this cd to your collection.

Nothing but Diru Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Okay, first off, I know that this album hadn't been received so well in Japan. Fans accused Dir of integrating a Western rock style into their music, and they have apparently been getting numerous requests to disband.

This is rubbish. Vulgar is, if not The, One of the best albums that Dir has made yet. Surely the long road they've taken to get to here has been meaningful and a good experience - without the experimentation and development of their music Vulgar would not be the amazing masterpiece it is.
Every song has a different melodramatic feel to it. Child prey takes you on a crazy rollercoaster ride that suddenly stops and fluctuates into a beautiful if not somewhat bittersweet harmony, while tracks like Drain Away and Obscure will make you sit there still for a full five minutes in shock at the absolutely astounding hardcore rock you have just heard.

Dir en grey has not taken a turn for the worse in any way - if anything, their music has suddenly hit the epiphamy and this is revealed strongest of all in the album Vulgar.

:O EXCELLENT! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I find this album absolutely WONDERFUL! I've heard so much about them becoming more "western" and their music becoming "crap", but I think the album is LOVELY! I was hooked the first minute
