YesAsia Editorial Description

Andy Lau and Karen Mok star in Wait 'Til You're Older, a funny, heart-felt and sentimental story of one boy's exploration of adult life.

Kwong is a young boy coping with a difficult family life. His mother commit suicide when she discovered that her husband, Man (Felix Wong) was having an affair. Since her death Man has married his mistress, Min (Mok), whom Kwong understandably hates. He wishes that he could become an adult so he wouldn't have to do what she says anymore. And as luck would have it, Kwong has a run-in with a strange old man in the park, and accidentally ingests a magical growth formula that causes him to begin aging very rapidly.

As an adult, Kwong (played now by Andy Lau) gets to do anything he wants, like stay out late, get drunk or even flirt with his sexy teacher, Miss Lee (Cherrie Ying). But he doesn't stop growing and within a couple of days Kwong has become an old man. The film contemplates the difficulties of family life, of raising children, of growing up, and facing death, which, anchored by Lau's strong central performance, makes for a touching and entertaining experience.

Twelve-year-old Kong is an unhappy child. He has not been happy since his mother's suicide three years ago, which he blames on his father and stepmother. He runs away from home one day and meets an eerie old man who claims he has a potion that can speed up the life process. As much as he would like to believe it, this is all baloney to him. So when he accidentally taints his blood with the potion, he hardly expects his fate is about to change forever. It is an impossible dream come true when Kong wakes up the next morning to find himself already a twenty-year-old young man.

Great movie! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I really love this movie! Very touching movie, and most of all, I am very amazed Andy's acting!! Especially when he acted when he turned 80's!! He did really good job on this movie! Plus, story is good too. I really could understand the little boy's feeling, because I also had similer experience when I was kid. The boy learned the meaning of family and love through growing each ages in short time. I really loved it! Must watch this movie!!

Movies starred by Andy Lau are always good Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I did watch "The World without thieves" starred by Andy Lau before this one. That's movie was so good, but this one is a good one, too. Although, the story is not very interesting like "The World without thieves," but it becomes a surprising twist at the end of the movie. However, the movie also carries a lot of teaching info to viewers like "The World without thieves"
Enjoyed the movie. It reminds me a lot of fun movies like Tom Hank or Addam ? who wishes to become an adult.

A GREAT SAD MOVIE Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This movie has to be one of 2005's greatest movies, very sad, funny in some parts and very entertaining. You will not get bored or look at your watch!
After watching this film you will see how lucky you are that you "may" still have the time to correct past mistakes and get closer to those who love you.
Buy this DVD and I'm sure you will like it! Unless you're looking for an action movie lol.

Very Touching! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I, like some of the other reviewers thought this movie was more of a comedy, but instead it was a very sad and touching movie. It does include some funny moments, but I think I cried more than laughed. The message in the movie is an important lesson to be learned, as the title gives it away, but you understand the whole meaning as you're watching it. Felix and Andy did a wonderful job in their respective roles as father and son. I liked the little boy who played Andy as well as his best friend. Karen was good also, but Cherrie and Gordon's acting weren't as inspiring, improvement is needed. I also like Bing-Bing, although she only appeared briefly, but she's a wonderful actress with great potential and plus she's pretty too. Overall, this is a great movie, but be prepared with tissues...as I wish I had!!!

very sad but good movie... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
wah... i haven't cried this much in a movie for sometime. this movie is sure meaningful and yet sad... T______T
at first i read da info bout this movie, i thought it would be like one of those similar movies as Jack and Big but, this movie is very depressing... Jack could could live through his high skool years... and Tom Hank could turn back in da other movies... However, it's different in this movie. Da kid in da movie didn't even have da chance to turn back or have da time to live da best in his life... But at least he understood da meaning of life...
anyway, this movie is sure worth watching and buying.
