YesAsia Editorial Description

The legendary "Three Brothers" of Hong Kong Cinema co-star in Wheels On Meals, a deliriously entertaining action-comedy that qualifies as essential Hong Kong Cinema! Thomas (Jackie Chan) and David (Yuen Biao) are a couple of kung-fu fighting friends who run a fast food truck in sunny Spain. But when a beautiful pickpocket named Sylvia (former Miss Spain Lola Forner) runs off with their money, the buddies are drawn into a wild and wacky adventure! Various shady individuals are after Sylvia, including private investigator Moby (Sammo Hung), a former friend of Thomas and David's, who's working for unknown individuals. But when Sylvia's life is put in danger, the three friends join together to do what they do best: fight, fight and fight some more! Wheels On Meals provides hard-hitting action and lots of laughs courtesy of the unbeatable trio of Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Biao, whose other collaborations like Project A and Dragons Forever rank as some of the most enjoyable Hong Kong movies ever made!

Old but Good! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I actually purchased the dvd last year but forgot to write a review.

One of the best films featuring the 3 'brothers' of Jackie, Sammo and Yuen Biao. Jackie and YB runs a chinese take-away in the form of a specially outfitted vw van. YB's father was committed to a psychiatric treatment centre who befriended a lovely spanish lady (who turned out to be Lorna's mum). Unbeknown to them, Lorna was actually the illegitamate daughter of a Count, the by-product of a one-night stand between him and his housekeeper (Lorna's mum). Mum & bub were sent away when the Countess discovered the affair.

Sammo plays a private detective hired by a mysterious man (the loyal butler) to locate a particular girl within a certain time frame. No reasons were given but later in the plot Sammo discovered that Lorna was the legal heir to inherit her father's will. Time is the factor as there's a deadline to meet otherwise the evil Count's brother will get everything.

Jackie & YB befriended Lorna in an unusual situation (she works as a street-smart hooker who steals her clients' money and run off before the job is done). She does this to support her mum. Feeling sorry for her, Jackie & YB decided to help her and gave her a chance to work as a 'waitress' for them. Besides, YB likes her and thought it's cool since her mum and his dad are an item. But later on, as the story develops, they ended up being good friends.

The fighting sequences were one of Jackie's and YB's best as they tried to rescue Lorna and her mum in the castle. Jackie with Benny (they had another round in Dragons Forever), YB and Sammo showed their prowess and agility (also a short opening scene when they did their sit-ups and stretches). I think Jackie did a couple of movies in Europe during his Armour of God sequences (also featuring Lorna). Love the little encounter when Jackie & YB tried to save their Italian neighbour from his wife cause he stayed out all night.

Buy now, it's a classic for Jackie's fans.

Gold! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Sorry... who doesn't own this? Buy the bloody thing now!! This is still rated as having one of the finest fight scenes ever committed to celluloid, and is pure gold in anyones DVD collection. A childhood favourite that has entertained me for nearly 20 years - and I'm still not sick of it...

Vaudeville banter Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
Not my favorite movie of the "3" but it provides some "dated" action. (Car chases really aren't my thing anyway) There's your usual brotherly bantering and action sequences. Definately enjoyed Project A & Dragons Forever over this film, but it still remains a classic action comedy in the style only these 3 can provide.

Very Good! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This DVD by Universe does not have any bonus material, so don't expect it! No outtakes or songs by Jackie either. English subtitling is adequate, though goes a bit quick sometimes. The story is OK, but it is the action, comedy and interraction between Jackie, Sammo and Yuen Biao which make this a really good movie! It is exhausting to watch the athetically acrobatic moves of the "3 brothers" - why didn't they ever join the Olympics - Gold for sure! The fight scenes between Jackie & Benny "the Jet" / Yuen Biao and (the other bad guy?) have to be seen to be believed. A must buy for Jackie fans!
