Winning Eleven Play Maker 2009 is the latest entry in the innovative Wii soccer game series, in which gamers can maneuver the soccer players freely and intuitively using the Wii remote and nunchuk. Gamers can play against or alongside each other on one machine (up to four gamers), or play multiplayer games online through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The game offers numerous game modes, including the "UEFA Champions League" mode, in which gamers can compete with the top European club teams. The new "Champions Road" mode lets the gamer's original team tour different leagues and strengthen it by acquiring players from opposing teams. The fan-favorite "Master League" mode in the Winning Eleven series makes a return here, allowing gamers to create and manage original teams to fight for honors.
