I really need to buy this Korean version of "Winter Sonata", one of my favourite dramas, but it's always out of stock. I know there is this other Malaysia version but I don't know if it is good enough, specially regarding English subtitles. I guess I will have to wait but I fear it's never going to happen and then the other version available might be out of stock when I decide to get it. Any suggestions?

i have not seen winter sonata an a long time but i still remember it i love it the first time i saw it and i have
been looking to but it but ever time i run a across a copy of it. it either out of stock, or not in print. i am just waiting unit i find one in print to buy. i just love korean movie and i buy them all the time . keep up the good work you know what darmas is all about you tell it frome the heart. gboston14

I am not a fan of Bae Yong joon but I admit he does have a certain charm. You cannot not like him. The plot is good and the ending is as good as can be. The little sister of Choi Ji Woo is so cute, she is a darling. Near the end you would want to go on and finish it all in one go. Very enjoyable.

This was the first korean drama I watched and I was so entranced by the series that I didn't eat or slep through all the dvd's. It's been several days and I am still haunted by images and the music from the series. I was amazed at the abilities of the leading actors to convey such deep emotion. I was so overwhelmed at times that tears would not flow but I felt like my heart was breaking. It is really impressive to see a series be carried by acting and storyline vs. racy sexual scences and violence, as is so common in most mainstream entertainment. The scenery was perfect and served to draw the viewers into the story and make you feel as if you were there as well. My only problem was the storyline ending. For all the heartache and trauma that the viewers experienced along with the actors, the end did not suffice to alleviate the dull pain of emptiness and bittersweet love. The series easily could have went on for a few more episodes to tie off things more realistically, such as Jun Sang finding out who his real father was, that was never fully developed. It simply did not make sense with the rest of the series to have Yuijin not pursue her 'first love' faithfully after finding out that she wasn't related to him and that he might possibly die. All in all though, I will forever be moved by this series and am now a fan of these k-dramas...

Out of a 10 star rating, I give this series a good 9 stars. The key to its greatness is the wonderful scenery (breath-taking)and the superb acting (especially by Bae Yong Joon). I have to admit that before I saw this series I really didnt understand what all the hype was about surrounding Bae Yong Joon. I dont think hes as hot as say Lee Byung Hun or Kwon Sang Woo, but wow...the man can really act and he has a wonderful relaxed confident charisma...great to watch!! Certainly see now why so many ladies adore him. This series still isnt my favourite (perhaps "Full House" or "My Lovely Sam Soon" gets that title) but its still a gem of a drama and a perfect example as to why Korean TV dramas are becoming famed all over the world. The series fails to get 10 stars because I simply cannot forgive the person who decided to give Mr Bae the worst hairstyle and colourant I have seen in Korean Drama. Truly awful and spoiled his looks in my opinion. Oh well, you cant have everything!!

I finally bought this series after so long and i have to say this is one of the best show ever other than the notable full house and STH.Excellent castings and performances from the main cast and the supporting cast.Scenery was very nice as well.

Lovely drama. Loved watching it, especially the first couple episodes when they were still in highschool. Great drama, great acting. Despite a couple of flaws here and there, it can be forgiven and forgotten. Recommend this drama to anyone...^^ 9/10.

This is my fave Korean series EVER!!!

This series is absolutely my fave ever!! My mama and I still watch this series!! WOOT WOOT!

Bae Yong Jun is really an eye candy in ths drama. hahahaha!!

The soundtrack is sooo beautiful! The songs totally suit the series!!

I have read all the viewers reviews. I've just seen that the one from Magaret,Vancouver (Feb22,2004 page15)is just the same as mine. That why I love this drama "winter sonata" very much eventhough I've watched so many dramas from many countries before. I'd like to go to visit south-korea for winter sonata location in october or december this year 2005. I try to write in english, I am very happy that Magaret review make me tell my view for this drama. Thank you very much Magaret for your review.

I thought this story was great!! all the asian girls in america are in love with bae yong joon, he's hot!! it'll make you fall in love with him that's all I gotta say and if your a guy you'll feel for this girl when she crys it's all over for the men.
