A beautiful story
| Life and death, as dictated by a dying patient with a mind for philosphy and literature. Much of the movie is shot in first-person view, with Vivian (Emma Thompson) talking directly to the camera, as if you (the audience) was in the same room with her. Humor, sarcasm, and the cold truth of facing death, letting go, and the dignity/or lack dignity before a person's ultimate demise. You will laugh with Vivian as she sarcastically explains the humors associated with being terminally ill, you will gnash your teet at uncaring research-minded doctors, and you will feel the compassion of others on the medical team who truly care for the patient as a person. A must see for those interested in life and death. |
