great first time offering Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This was a great film. An okay movie but an excellent film. Visually excellent, the story is very subtle and a lot of complexities wrapped in a simple vehicle. This would mean using your head. I believe the visuals and what emotions people are evoking bring you into the story. For those who wanted more character development, well it was there. Maybe it just went over your heads. It's nice to have it toy with you instead of just getting it shoved in your face. As for the scenes that were "boring" or "slow"...these are meant to let you dwell in the emotion and let it sink in. Just enjoy. For those who were dissappointed on it not being as good as Japanese or Western anime I suggest you give this a fair chance since it is the first one but also learn a bit about Korean culture since it is quite different from Japanese. And you just don't compare western anime since there is no such thing...just cartoons.

very good Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I understand other reviewer saying this movie lacks some character development or "story" and so on. But I feel this is enough. Maybe the director intended this way, I think. Visually stunning, but not emotional. To understand characters, concentrate on the visual images, not on characters.
Very unique film. I recommend this.

Korean animation still has a ways to go. Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
Unlike Japan, Korea doesn't have a history of anime. In fact, while the Japanese saturate the media with TV specials whenever a famous artist passes away, Korean culture usually looks down on those who like and/or create cartoons or comics. Keeping this in mind, I can say "Wonderful Days" isn't a horrible effort. However, it falls terribly short when compared to both western and Japanese animation.

The visual aspect is a blend of both styles -- some of the characters look like they were pulled straight from animes, while others look like they belong in an animated movie by Fox. However, the movements are neither streamlined and stylish like in anime, or smooth and elaborate like in western animated movies -- in fact, it's often jerky. It seems like they spent too much time on the awkward CG aspects of the movie. While the CG is well done, it just doesn't go well with the drawn parts. And while we're on the topic of CG, did anybody notice that the music in the trailor (and in parts of the movie) sounds uncannily like music for the Matrix?

The story, regretfully , is also a rip off -- this time of "Princess Mononoke". Although the war is between two classes of humans instead of between humans and animals, the idea is the same -- one causes destruction and pollution so that they may live comfortably while the others suffer, and there is a love affair between a member of each. The most glaring proof of unoriginality comes in the last few moments of the movie when it ends with almost the identical ending scene from Mononoke.

While it copies "Princess Mononoke" in these respects, it doesn't measure up its great directing. The pace is very, very awkward and sometimes rushed when there should be calm, silent moments. Other parts, such as the contrived climax, are too slow.

There's a lot more that can be said, but the basic point is this: considering that Korea doesn't have an animation history, this movie is a commendable effort in the right direction. It won't be long before they can really compete with western or Japanese animation. However, for those who want to watch good movies right now, "Wonderful Days" isn't worth anything over $ -- even with two discs and pretty holographic packaging.

Wonderful Animation! Superb visual effects/graphic Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
"Wonderful Days" has one of the best quality 3D&2D visual effects and graphics, and it is a very well made animated movie. The voice performers could do better, and the story, perhaps, could also be better...but that doesn't matter. I was overwhelmed by their passion, desire, and love to bring this animation to life. I would send them a loud applause for their efforts. I really enjoyed it! :)

Good, solid effort Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
The animation is gorgeous, the direction is solid, the action is great, and the characters are compelling enough to keep you watch. The big problem with it in my opinion is that it tries too hard to be artistic, without dealing with some basic aspects of filmmaking, namely character development. Also, there are several plot devices that are left unresolved that should have been tied up better. It trips over the delicate balance between tying everything up too nicely and not doing it well enough.

It's certainly not Miyazaki Hayao by any means, but it is certainly worth watching. The climatic "final battle" scene is a bit cliched, but it's well done with fantasy music in the background.

Worth watching Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
The animation was visually stunning and the music was very fitting. But I also agree that the characters weren't as developed as I had hoped them to be, as well as the plot. Granted that the producers only had a limited amount of money and time, it still could have been much better. Good pieces of work can always become great.... Over all, however, Wonderful Days is well worth watching!

Startling, brilliant Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
"Wonderful Days" grabs the eye from the first frame and does not let go until the heart rending denouement. This is a simple story that does not get in the way of the strong emotion that carries the viewer like an ocean wave. The visual elements only serve to create a sense of a reality that is more real than real. Believability is not strained, but is the natural element of watching. I was pulled in breathlessly and enjoyed every astounding minute. To those who decry lack of character development while citing what is probably the most recent equal achievement, "Akira," I can only wonder what grand character development is displayed in that other film? Neither film is a saga of decades. The story spans less than a week but for one childhood flashback, and is compressed into an hour and a half of video. It is a parable, depending not on the growth of the characters but on the meaning of events stemming from conflict between characters already strongly defined. This is the most stunning anime to arrive in fifteen years and theater owners would do well to consider adding it to their venue.

not bad Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
To be honest, I expected a lot more from this title, because some claimed that it can be compared with "AKIRA", which is not just one of my most favorite anime title, but also one stands out all other real movies as well. I think the problem of it is it brought no particular new elements except the Korean culture feel from all anime titles we ever watched. And I also think the team had just spent too long to make the movie "perfect", which in my dict I would say it is unnecessary and somewhen in between the team seems to lousian the tension from the movie just a little bit to just make it just a little bit bore. But hey, the bg and music score are great that still worth 70%-80% a watch.
