December 30, 2007 One of Ayu's worst releasesIt might be better than (miss)understood, and by some chance could possibly have a remote chance at beating Secret, but it's still lacking. The songs all have the same basic arrangement, with the exception of glitter (which is basically a remixed rehash of Ayu's last two summer singles, fairyland and BLUE BIRD). It's like, rock, rock, rock, mid-tempo rock ballad, rock, rock, mid-tempo rock ballad, repeat, repeat. There's little variety in this album at all. In some ways, you could view that as a good thing, since it makes the album pretty cohesive overall. But in another since, a lot of the songs sound very, very similar, and most of them lack that special something that makes Ayu who she is. So what if she's had a rough year? She's been through harder times and made much better albums through them. In the end, I would recommend MY STORY and Secret over this, since all of the songs on GUILTY sound like the leftovers from those two albums. I just wish Ayu would stop repeating the same thing over and over again and be original and unique like she once was. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

December 25, 2007 Don't buy the Taiwan versionI bought the Taiwan version of this DVD and I would advise against buying this version unless you speak Chinese or really can't afford another version. Although the DVD has Chinese subtitles, what they don't tell you is that it's hard-subbed, so now I have no way to get rid of these really annoying subtitles. Also, the quality is NOT up to par with DVD quality. It looks pretty crappy. I'm disappointed! So, if you must buy it, get the Japanese version. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Futari (Japan Version)
February 20, 2006 Buy it.Okuda Miwako is definitely one of the many underrated artists in Japan. She has an amazing voice, and -most- of the songs on this album are amazingly beautiful. However, the CD and booklet are really cheaply made. It doesn't matter much, anyways, because the focus of a CD is its contents, not its cover. A little over half the songs on this album are great (aozora no hate, ame to yume no ato ni, yume, habataite tori wa kieru). They range from powerful rock (aozora no hate, yume) to mid-paced songs (ame to yume no ato ni) to ballads (habataite tori wa kieru). However, some of the other songs are just "there" for me (mugon, nichiyoubi no asa, buranko ni yurete, utau riyuu) and the songs "futari" and "kanashimi ni oborete" are just unlistenable. However, the songs "ame no oto" and "sakura chiru mae ni" are just unforgettable. They're both beautiful ballads showing off just how well Miwako CAN sing. Her voices ranges from soft, reminiscent to powerful, sorrowful. Another unforgettable track is "zetsubou no hate." It's basically the same as track one, "aozora no hate", except that this version has different lyrics and her voice is accompanied by only piano. It's a shame that I have to skip so many songs on the album, otherwise, it would be perfect for me. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

December 30, 2005 Well...The music is sloppy, her voice is sloppy, the song is sloppy. The music is repetitive, the chorus is repetitive, everything is repetitive, the song is repetitive. The chorus is just her wailing "Be my last aaahhhh." It's boring, and the accident scene in the PV was awful and looked completely fake and although it was supposed to be serious it was hilarious instead. I'm surprised this single sold as well as it did -- after all, it's only one track and there's nothing great about it at all. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

December 30, 2005 TerribleI couldn't agree more with tananime and Ash. I thought Utada's earlier songs were a breath of fresh air, not her new works like Passion and Be My Last. Passion is sloppy and her voice is irritating. It's not even a real song, just a jumble of her voice trying to mesh with music that is way too loud. It's boring and repetitive. The PV is over-exaggerated, and the song isn't worth it. And what's up with the cover? What was she thinking? It looks cheap and awful! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

December 30, 2005 "J-POP QUEEN"? Not at all!I'm a total fan of Ai's two previous albums, but this one is completely awful! Track 1, "5:09a.m" drags on too much, and is still too short of a song for me to like it. Track 2, "hane ari tamago" is totally boring and her voice is messy. Track 3, "bi-dama" is catchy at some parts but overall too repetitive. Track 4, "SMILY" is completely awful and her voice is so irritating! It's horrible compared to her earlier hits like "sakuranbo" and "Happy Days." "U-bo-to", track 5, is annoying. Track 6, "neko ni fuusen" is easily the best song on this album. It's beautiful and sounds clean, unlike the other songs on this album. Track 7, "Cherish" was great the first few times I heard it, but the magic wore off and it's become boring. But, her voice is really chilling right after the first chorus. Track 8, "ramen sanbun kukkingu" is awful awful awful awful awful. I don't really have anything to say about track 9 "toukyou middonaito" except that it hasn't clicked with me. "Planetarium," track 10, is the 2nd best song on this album, and it's quite beautiful. I have nothing to say about "Birthday Song" except that it's probably worse than track 8. Lastly, track 12, "LOVE MUSiC" is completely too slow to live up to its title, and her voice is too loud. Overall, I was EXTREMELY disappointed in this album! If you want to buy something of Ai's that's actually worth your money, go look at her other albums "LOVE PUNCH" and "LOVE JAM." Their covers are less tacky and the music is much more fun, clean, and catchy. I think she tried too hard to be childlike in some of the songs on this album. "Planetarium" and "neko ni fuusen" are really the only reason I gave this album any stars at all. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

August 6, 2005 Gaaah.Ayu! Stop singing evolution, SURREAL, Boys & Girls, UNITE! and whatever else at your concerts! It's getting so annoying! Every time you look at the tracklisting for a concert, what do you see? Those four songs! EVERY SINGLE TIME. Okay, Ayu! We get it! They're old! Nobody wants to hear them anymore! She really needs to try putting songs in there she hasn't sung 2903859032859238523 times, like WE WISH or everywhere nowhere or Heartplace and other awesome songs like that. I'm so tired of having to listen to these songs she keeps performing over and over and over again. Is she ever going to stop?! I'm probably not even going to buy this tour because of these songs!
