One year after the disbanding of g.o.d., former member Son Ho Young releases his debut solo album. For this album, he especially sought vocal training from singer Park Sun Joo (whose students include TVXQ's Xiah Jun Su and Fly to the Sky's Fany). He hopes to present a completely new Son Ho Young with a vocal style different from that of his g.o.d. days.

Son Ho Young Vol. 1 - Yes presents a range of different musical styles. Son shoes off his vocal range and strong voice with the main track "I Cry" (Track 5), a beautiful and touching ballad. Meanwhile, the mid-tempo dance number Yes (Track 2) raises the volume with pulsing beats and funky rhythms. The multi-talented Son also included his own compositions in the album. He wrote the song and lyrics for "Happy Virus" (Track 13) and the lyrics for "Confession" (Track 15) and "Love and Separation Come Together" (Track 4).

Nice album Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I can't read Korean but I thought "My Heart is in Heaven" was going to be in this album but it wasn't. I really love this song but I was dissappointed that I can't have it now. I liked Track 5 only. His voice is great, the songs were ok.

I happened to come across his PV for My Heart is in Heaven and decided to check out his past album... and it's excellent. There are some really great catchy songs on this album. There wasn't one that I didn't like ^_^ I'll probably be ordering this soon.

Also, I noticed that he has an accent... he doesn't sound like a native korean (like most artists)...so i did some research and found out he's from New Jersey! I'll be happy to support him. ^_^ I hope he becomes successful with his solo career because he just gained a fan.

An excellent voice to listen to...Son Ho Young ^_^

i found out about son ho young from a forum i belong too (we were very happy to learn he's a fellow jersey boy!!) and bought his cd based off of the video for yes....so so happy i did!! i haven't stopped listening to it...i find his voice very addictive...such a range of music styles on there...amazing ballads that really show off his voice...great dance hits...#8 is actually my favorite!! hoping there's a 2nd one coming out - might have to check out his former boy band days!!

Happy Hoi virus~ ^^ Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH! What do you expect from a great artist and a member of one of the best k-male groups, god, like Son Hoyoung? It's not just about the killer smile & cute face~ Son Hoyoung is an amazing-talented singer, too! His voice is truly incredible. ALL the songs from this album are great to listen to but my favorites are: "chinguran ireumeuro" (track 10. feat. Kim Taewoo), "Jageungabang" (track 12), "Happy Virus" (track 14), "Crying" (track 6), "breakup after love" (track 5)… and ahhh~ this is hard; actually I LOVE ALL OF THEM. LOL. The Intro/track 1 (Kiss) & 4U sound sooooooo goooooooood! ^^ I highly recommend this album! Can't get enough of Hoi-sound-trippin'. Haha! god & Hoyoung forever!

I have been waiting THE longest time for this album... ever since I heard about Ho Young releasing one. IT'S FINALLY OUT!~ I bought it and I am thrilled!~ I think "Yes!" is a very unique track and I honestly love it. All the songs flow very well one after another. I especially like "Chin Goo Ran Ee Reum Eu Roh" Ho Young sang with Kim Tae Woo.

THIS ALBUM IS AWESOME!~
