Andy Lau, Sammi Cheng and Johnnie To's working relationship can only be described as Hong Kong's Golden Trio. After successful collaborations on films Needing You and Love on a Diet, they join forces for the third time on Yesterday Once More. Andy and Sammi star as a married couple who shares a common profession as thieves. Johnnie To intends to let this witty comedy be the final chapter in Andy and Sammi's romantic tale.

In the film Andy and Sammi star as a happily married couple who socializes with high society, but it turns out they are actually thieves who both share the thrills and challenges of stealing. Although this perfect couple has divorced, and they continue to compete with one another, there is little doubt that they are still deeply in love. Sammi decides to get close to Carl Ng, in an attempt to break into Jenny Wu's mansion to steal their family treasure...

Yesterday Once More is in many ways the romantic twist to Johnnie To's classic film Running Out of Time, as the two leads use all their wits to win the ultimate prize: love. This time you can witness the chemistry that is steadily developing between Sammi and Andy as they work ever better with each other. Of course, this film also marks the return of Jenny Wu, a legendary actress who has been away from the silver screen for over two decades!

You would be pleasantly surprised if you haven't watched this movie twice.

I must admit the first time I watched the movie, I was just plain bored. I was expecting a climax that never really came. The music and picture were great but I just couldn't relate to the two main characters. I had no idea why they were chasing each around, and I could not tell what exactly went on in their minds. Disappointed indeed.

Somehow I decided to watch it one more time. Knowing what I knew that was going to happen at the end, helped me give the characters a 2nd chance. Until then, it wasn't difficult to see through Andy's intentions - it was calculated, every move and every expression of his were rooted deeply in his love for Sammi. Sammi, on the other hand, was perfect for the role - she was once again an oblivious woman who just could not grasp what was going on in her life. One thing though, the scene where she hugged him from his back made it obvious that she loved him deeply.

Great movie overall, one of those movies that you have to watch with your head.

I really loved this movie!! Sammi was so cute in this movie and really cute husband and wife! I really enjoyed how to steal stuff as well. And this movie made me think love is the most important than " Thing". No matter how much you are rich or you have stuff you want, after all, you can't take those with you when you die. But the love surely can take it with your spirit. I think this movie teaches this. But one thing I didn't like is Andy is going to die without telling his wife. I really don't understand every time, in chinese movie, someone-- espeically most of them are good people--- dies in end... I expected happy ending, But yeah, I enjoyed it and I love it, so must watch!

i rewatched this movie recently
and it was simply wonderful and sweet

i love sammi and andy's collboration
too bad this will be the last one they film together

this movie has a funny plot..where sammi and andy fight together for stealing valuable items

carl chan (supporting character) also performs a wonderful role too
quite outstanding and memorable

overall..this was a wonderful movie

won't spoil the ending here..but it is worth your time

I love Andy and Sammi movies, both of them are jewel thieves in this movie and I believe they are divorced. Sammi is dating a guy who's mom has a lot of jewelry. Lots of trial and tribulations in this movie, it's a must see.

andy and sammy make a cute couple, and their acting is pretty good here (sammy takes on an annoying role). the plot is original compared to the other romantic stories. i'd watch it again.
