The sound of Yoon Gun is in the air again.
Known for his music alliance with Naul as R&B duo Brown Eyes, which disbanded much to the regret of their fans, Yoon finally returns to his solo career after an extensive hiatus of over two years. Yoon has been involved in music projects like the soundtrack for MBC drama series Sad Love Story, as well as composing for peers like Kim Bum Soo. Now he is ready to let his unique vocals and stylish performances come alive again, with the focus resting on mellow mid-tempo ballads like his latest principal song, "Days Indebted To Love" (Track 3). Also including Everything, which features rap and rhythm programming by the hip hop duo Lee Ssang, My Romantic Occasion shows off Yoon's smooth voice once more.

도시적인 감성과 "윤건" 특유의 애틋한 사랑 이야기가 "윤건"만의 보컬을 통해 이번 앨범에서도 잘 표현되었다.
이번 앨범에서는 기존 "윤건"의 스타일로 비춰지던 미디엄 템포의 곡에서 조금 벗어나 발라드곡 '사랑으로 빚진 날들'이 타이틀 곡으로 선정되었다.
곡의 템포를 조금 천천히 하며 담아내는"윤건"의 감성은 "브라운 아이즈" 시절의 '벌써 일년'에서 담아내던 감성보다는 조금 더 성숙하고 깊은 사랑의 감정을 표현해 내고 있는데, 기존 "윤건"의 곡에서처럼 이번 앨범의 곡들도 들으면 들을수록 특유의 맛이 느껴진다.

Both Yoon Gun and Na Ul have produced good albums outside of BE but none were too much of a success, although Na Ul's remake album was close. This CD should change that. There are MANY tracks that take you right back to the original BE without even thinking twice. Tracks like 4 and 6 are just simply amazing with GREAT melodies and really crisp lyrics. Track 8 is a remix of a song that was on Yoon Gun's first solo album about 4 years ago. The English lyrics are great and actually make sense!! =P I love "The Muse" (Track 7) which is completely in English-- "The beat of the music testifies that love is alive, rhythm with love, my heart in tune, to you, into your light. You are a melody inside, you're reading my mind, you sing to my soul, my heart in tune to you where ever I go." You can tell that Yoon Gun has worked extremely hard the last two years on this album and it is shown greatly. You get a great feel from the ballads, some sad and some upbeat and a good techno type song mixed in here and there. The only thing I disagree with is the choice of title track for the CD. I really think Yoon Gun would have been much better off with track 4 or 6 which are much stronger. But overall it is a GREAT CD!! |
