オリジナルの『イース』は体当たりによる攻撃を基本としていましたが、本作では“剣を振る”アクションが追加されました。さらに“コンボ”の要素を追加することでアクション性と戦闘時の爽快感を大幅にアップ。
また、タッチペンで操作することも可能です。
新しい地図と敵キャラの追加
『イースＤＳ』には新マップ「バギュ＝バデット」が追加されました。ここでは、新たな敵キャラと新ボスキャラ“ペトロレクス”も登場します。
DSワイヤレス通信による通信対戦とその他の特徴
敵を倒した際に出現する「ロッド」を制限時間内に集めて数を競い合う通信対戦機能が追加されました。また、ボス戦だけを連続して戦ってそのクリア時間を競う「タイムアタック」モードやゲーム中に使用されるBGMを聴ける「ＭＵＳＩＣ ＭＯＤＥ」もあります。
