Six wealthy misfit students take up mystery solving in the star-studded 2007 school drama Yukan Club. KAT-TUN heartthrob Akanishi Jin (Gokusen 2) leads the cast along with bandmate Taguchi Junnosuke and Kanjani8's Yokoyama You for a triple dose of Johnny's idols. Actresses Kashii Yu (Death Note), Minami (Sakuran), and Suzuki Emi (Waterboys 2) complete the photogenic line-up of eccentric characters. Based on an immensely popular shojo manga, Yukan Club presents suspense, action, and comedy in light and leisurely portions. KAT-TUN provides the drama's hit theme song Keep the Faith.

Cool, laidback, and popular, Miroku (Akanishi Jin) doesn't care for too much in life beyond his motorcycle and dog. Thanks to his police commissioner father, he has plenty of connections and great fighting skills. Calm and collected, Seishiro (Yokoyuma Yu) rivals Miroku in family background and martial arts prowess, plus he has the brains to match. Quirky tomboy Yuri (Minami) can also hold her own in a fight, but her biggest talent and passion is eating. Raised in the traditional arts in a respected family, Noriko (Kashii Yu) has a phobia against men and would rather keep human contact to a minimal. The outgoing members of the group, campus beauty Karen (Suzuki Emi) strives to catch a rich husband, while ambassador's son Granmarie (Taguchi Junnosuke) keeps himself busy and uncommitted with a long string of girlfriends. These six unlikely friends make up President High's elite student council. With nothing better to do with their time, they form a leisure club to solve the strange mysteries that crop up around them.

名門校・聖プレジデント学園の生徒会室には、「有閑倶楽部」というプレートも掲げられてあった。生徒会役員を務めると同時に「有閑倶楽部」のメンバーでもある6人は、生徒たちのなかでもひときわ目立つ存在だった。警視総監の一人息子にして生徒会副会長の松竹梅魅録をはじめとする男女6人は、いずれも美男美女で家は大金持ち。そんな6人は、今日も生徒会室でヒマを持て余していて…。

It didn't take long for Yukan Club to become one of my favorite Japanese TV series. The cast is amazing, and well able to keep you involved in the story even while you're laughing out loud at their wacky antics. Oh yes, wacky antics. This series is full of them. XD

The story revolves around the six members of prestigious Saint President Gakuin's "Yukan Club". Emotional bad boy Miroku (Akanishi Jin), gorgeous playboy Bido (Junnosuke Taguchi), intellectual Seishiro (Yokoyama You), conservative Noriko (Kashii Yu), fashionable love-questing Karen (Suzuki Emi), and the always hungry Yuri (Minami). The group uses solving mysteries as a way to spend their vast fortunes and pass the time.

The supporting characters includes the eccentric parents of these spoon-fed teens, scheming school officials, gangsters, foreign royalty, and a bomb-happy crossdresser to name a few. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll probably laugh until you cry a few times too. Yukan Club is a hilarious and heartwarming series that you'll watch over and over again. I definitely recommend it.

Good series.. bad price =|.!! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I first saw this when it was just coming out (the DVD I mean) and I really really liked the series. It has my 2 favourite KAT-TUN members and Minami, my favourite actress. So yeah, I was expecting good things. And good things I got :D! I enjoyed every episode, laughed, cried (okay, I'm super soft xD) and it was just very good.

Soo I thought, I must buy this! Its my birthday next month and it was going to be a present. It was £85.03! Expensive stuff. BUT. I begged. So I checked back next day, it was now £85.93! I started to get a little suspicious. So I come here today to actually buy the thing, and realise it is now £92.99!! I'm buying it from somewhere else. I suggest you do too.

Good series, dodgy price :(.
