一個不知名的年代裡，鷹族和魔山族是結仇頗深、水火不容的兩個族，他們共同盤據在一個山頭上，為了爭地盤常常殺得你死我活。山神企望兩族修好，心機用盡，卻始終功敗垂成，遂下毒咒迫使鷹族遷山，流放外地，兩族衝突才告平息，魔山族於是度過了一段安詳的日子。
數世代後，魔山族的韓愛上了鷹族的蘇，兩人生下了一個美麗絕倫的女兒碧。原本人人稱羨的愛情和甜蜜美滿的家庭，卻因為野心勃勃的蘇執意要向魔山族宣戰爭地、一統天下而告結束。慾望薰心的蘇打算犧牲自己的女兒碧，將她殺死作為獻給山神的祭品，先藉此討好山神。

I love this film

I really love this film although I don't understand korean. I love to watch it over and over again. I also love the setting, and the costume. I hope someone loves this film can tell me the script because I don't understand korean at all and I have missed so many important points. Please help. |

Almost there

When I watched this movie, I went into it following a hype. I watched the music video and it was great. That's cos this movie contains many beautiful scenes. The action was great and it was comparable to Breaveheart and Gladiator in a smaller scale. The moves were much better choreographed and the shots were taken beautifully. I did have complaints about it though. This movie seemed like a large scale movie and sometimes it just didn't live up to it. Don't get me wrong, there are scenes when hundreds of people are going at each other but there are scenes when two tribes are suppose to be fighting one another and there are only about 15 people for each tribe. This only happened in the fight scenes taken on the grass plains and most of the movie was shot with hundreds of extras so you wouldn't even notice. The second complaint I had about this movie is that it's way to complicated, and I am Korean who can understand Korean! Imagine the trouble you'll have if you aren't! It's sorta like Mission Impossible in that you'll get the basic plot of the story, but you won't fully get every detail of the many twist and turns this movie has. (Unless you got both your mom and dad explaining it to you. Hehehe) Non the less, this movie is great and it would have received a 10 if they spent a little more money to produce this already huge budget movie in Asia. (Lets leave America out of this) It's movies like this and Bichunmoo which prove Koreans have got the stuff to create blockbusters. Just wait until they spend money on it like the Chinese did in the 80's. Be sure to experience this film. (and for only 11 bucks!) |

Mixed bags

This is a film made like a music video. Transition from scene to scene can be improved for smoothness, but leaves you with strong and lasting images. The film provides a heavily gothic portail of pre-civilized society mixed with modern lingual that's easy to relate but at times awkward. Though at times difficult to follow, at the end it all comes together. For those interested in seeing good imagery and atmospheric mood that captivates imagination, I recommend this film. |

Not Enough Action

I have purchased several korean films and I don't know the language. But this film was the most confusing to follow. It had to much drama and not enough action. If you are looking for action, don't rent this on. KL |

When will Korean films be subtitled in English.

I am really getting interested in Korea films because they seemed to be in a golden period much like Hong Kong films were in the 1980's and I wish Korean filmmakers would realize the market for rabid Asian films buffs like myself who want to get a good action film whether its from Japan, Asian or Korea. Why is is the only Korean films that have English subtitles are "Shiri" and "Beat". I want to see some of the Martial Arts films Korea has been making and also Horror films like "The Ring Virus" , "The Gingko Bed". Until Korea film distribution companies realize they will be missing out on a huge pontential market of Americans, Japanese, and Chinese action movie fans. Oh well, I guess thats the breaks, guess if i want to see JSA.. I will have to learn Korean and get a Korean GF..LOL |
