「緊張大師」希治閣（Alfred Hitchcock）享譽國際，佳作如林，五、六十年代有不少國、粵語片也受他薰陶，以緊張、懸疑的兇殺故事為題材，《危機重重》（又名《殺機重重》）正是其中之一。本片由王天林導演、文安編劇，講述女主角（李湄）因醉酒失言，造成買兇殺人的誤會，而被追殺的對象正是她自己。李湄在《危機重重》中把七分狐媚、三分自覺的女性形象發揮得淋漓盡緻，與「妖姬」白光可謂一脈相承，但終能自出機杼，別創一格，令人印象難忘。
Master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock had many disciples in Hong Kong whom he was not aware of. They had produced countless Mandarin and Cantonese thrillers during the 1950s and 1960s, including Death Traps directed by Wang Tianlin. Helen Li Mei plays the role of an alcoholic who, in a state of drunkenness, mistakenly hires a mafia boss to kill herself. Li has often been compared to singer/actress Bai Guang who is also renowned for her femme fatale image. Both actresses impress the audience with a combination of their stunning beauty and the subtle sexiness (if not foxiness) of their exceptional performance.
