　　機靈小子一咻寄居在迦葉寺，孝宗皇帝到寺中祭天，跟他一見如故，派他下江南尋找玉珮。一咻在江南當起教師，以非常方法教導一班出名難纏的學生，並認識了僧人無休，神秘學生朱正，院長女兒籽言及皇弟寧王。孝宗病重，封一咻為太博，官拜一品，統率六部，輔助新君太子朱正。孝宗駕崩，朱正即位，國號正德。鄭王擁兵持機篡位，大臣結黨營私，互相攻擊而寧王早有謀朝之心，正德帝位岌岌可危。一咻為了正德和社稷，以其非常教師的方法，用在六部大官身上，弄得他們團團轉﹗而就在此時，一咻發現了一個天大的秘密……

　　The Fascinating story of Yi-lum, nicknamed "The Happy-Go-Lucky Monk", is chronicled in this wonderful TV series. Orphaned and sent to the renowned "Buddha Leave" Temple by his mother the playful and wacky Yi-lum is a breath of fresh air to the disciplined and solemn monastery. His quick wit and fast thinking impresses the visiting emperor who decides to enlist Yi-lum's help in locating a jade emblem. Thus begins a series of dangerous adventure near-misses and daring rescues which culminated with a shocking revelation of Yi-lum's own heritage. Smart Kid is fun and exciting entertainment for young and old alike!
