今次後篇除了流克外，還會出現另兩個全CG的死神雷姆及傑拉斯，他們曾是彌海砂的死神，雷姆為了保護海砂，不惜跟「奇拿」作對，但亦因為「雷姆」的降世，出現了第二本死亡筆記，反而引發出三個「奇拿」殺人，究竟筆記上最後一個名字會是誰呢?後篇將會增強電影懸疑性及吸引性，將會有一個驚異的改動，原創連原著也沒有的結局。
前篇中，香椎由宇飾演的「奇拿」女友、以及瀨戶朝香飾演的前FBI探員相繼陣亡。今次後篇則有兩個全新女角上陣：包括《小早川伸木之戀》片瀨那奈飾演的女主播高田清美，她被選為「奇拿」代言人，更是殺人事件的關鍵人物；而原創角色就有由上原櫻飾演的西山子，她是高田清美的同事。

Manga version's much better!
| The story is being dumbed down way too much and the new material that's introduced simply doesn't match the wit and intellegence of the manga. The male lead is terribly mis-casted; although L and the female KIRA are OK. CG is nothing to write home about but understandable given the budget (compared to those of Hollywood movies). Bottom line, don't expect a faithful adaptation of the manga; if you haven't read it, it may make for passable entertainment. |

Simply an outstanding story!
| Since I have watched the first death note movie I was deeply poisoned by its storyline. What attracted me the most was when the 2 geniuses fighted one another using a lot of stretegic methods. This is a movie you must see. You will need to do a lot of thinking as the story goes. The death note animation gives thorough details of the whole story. I would suggest people watch the movie first then watch the animation for more explanation. |
