beautiful Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Slow paced, and often very dimly lited with candles or lamps, Flowers is a personal and interesting film about the lives of flower girls and their patrons. With no close ups, one can hardly have the chance to feel for the characters. In fact, Tony Leung's character is probably the only one you can actually feel pathos for, because you are able to see two instances where the camera allows him to display his emotions clearly. One when he breaks the items in Crimson's room in anger and the second when he is about to leave Shanghai and when questioned about Crimson by her ex-maid, you can practically see him close to tears as his opium is being prepared. Artistic and with intricate costumes, this is a film you got to sit and watch at least twice to fully understand and appreciate.

The story ties together very well Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Though I need subtitle to understand part of the conversation, it has not discouraged me from watching the movie. I think it is a good movie and worth your time to watch. If you have time, take a look. =)

Slow Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
It is typical of Hou's speed. This one is much slower that othersr. The lanaguage (Shaihainese) is very difficult to follow as one has to consitantly refer to subtitles for accuracy and tracking the story lines which are. again, slow and unclear to say the least. No one is going to dispute Hou's artistical level in moving making. However, givethe audiance a break, please, let's try to understand what is going on in the dark rooms on the screen.
