Despite coming from a humble family background, Cheng Yue (Jerry Yan) shows great promise as a pianist. He and childhood mate, beautiful cellist Yan Rui Shan (Alice Tzeng) share the same passion for music and hope of a rosy future... until a traffic accident leaves Yue's hand disabled and his dream shattered. Dejected, he leaves everything behind to wander the world. During his stop in Shanghai, he crosses paths with Dong Hsiao Lu (Terri Kwan) again, the girl he encountered in that fateful traffic accident.
