July 30, 2006 Angela Aki - HomeGifted singer/songwriter Angela Aki's debut album is really great if you like nice ballads, mid up-tempo songs and off course piano music which is the basic of all of her songs. She is such an amazing artist with a lot of potential creativity to make it big in the future, if she isn't already because of her input for the new Playstation 2 game, Final Fantasy XII theme song "Kiss Me Good-Bye" and for the 3rd ending theme song for the anime BLOOD+, "This Love". The album will also include "Rain", which was a huge hit on her previous indies mini-album "One". I pre-ordered this version a while ago and I must say I didn't regret it because I was sure it was going fast 'out of print', just because the fact it has the Final Fantasy theme song on it and the "Final Fantasy XII Perfected Original Movie ~Final Edition~" track on the DVD. The DVD also includes all PV's for "Home", "Kokoro no Senshi", "Kiss Me Good-Bye" and "This Love", the last track on the DVD is a live performance from "This Love" at the SonyMusic Anime Festival which was held on 2006.5.7, I must say her live performance sounds great, she sings just as pure as she sings on the album. I know this version is 'out of print', but if you ever find the CD+DVD Limited Edition, you should definitely buy it immediately or buy the normal edition if you don't care about the DVD, either way, buy it, because this album is a masterpiece. July 30, 2006 Sifow - Love & PeaceGreat summer single from Avex Trax new star Sifow. The song sounds amazing and really gives me the summer spirit. I personally think this is going to be Sifow's breakthrough single, just because it is really die hard J-Pop music and nothing more. It is a single that makes you smile and want to sing along with Sifow, the B-side is more a J-Pop dance song which is also nice for a change than putting a ballad on the B-side (for samples go to Sifow's official Avex Trax website). Further the PV looks (just as the cover of this single) very colourful and Sifow looks amazing as always. Watch out for Sifow's next release which is a full-length album, out on September 13, 2006! July 29, 2006 Nana Kitade - Cutie BunnyGothic lolita J-Rock star Nana Kitade releases her first mini-album on CD+DVD. If you like rock-ish music with a cute flavour on it, than this is something you might like. The album will contain six covered songs and will be composed of seven of her cell-phone exclusive releases. 1st; "Lum no Love Song" is the opening song from anime Urusei Yatsura, 2nd; "Moonlight Densetsu" is the famous opening song for the anime Sailor Moon, 3rd; "Arashi no Sugao" is Kudou Shizuka's 7th single, 4th; "You May Dream" is Glay's first song on the album Pure Soul, 5th; "Roppongi Shinjyuu" is Aikawa Nanase 21st single (the song was originally sung by Ann Lewis in 1984), 6th; "Bara wa Utsuku Chiru" is the opening song from anime Versailled no Bara which means Rose of Versailles. The DVD on the other hand will contain all new material from the J-rock star and also consists of six tracks. 1st; "In the heart of Nana-ish clothes ~Reducing food expenses, and wearing cute clothes!~", 2nd; "Nana is a working girl? ~That is for the sake of becoming and dying a good person~", 3rd; "KISS PV (full promotion video of her latest single release SLAVE of KISS)", 4th; "This is Nana's wonderful dream! ~The merry-go-round's horse is wished for~", 5th; "Nana-like princess heart is Jack ~Yamanashi-ken is the best candidate to construct a castle?~", 6th; "Lum no Love Song PV" (full promotion video for the song Lum no Love Song), the DVD will be approx 46 minutes and is encoded to play on Region 2 DVD players. Further the booklet consists of nice pictures of Nana Kitade and the CD+DVD are picture printed. To conclude, for a mini-album the tracks on the CD are amazing but personally I really enjoyed myself watching the DVD, she looks so cute and amazing in Gothic Lolita style, the PV's are also my favourite Nana Kitade songs and maybe you will also learn or be inspired by Japanese fashion... July 26, 2006 Koda Kumi - 4 Hot WaveTwo months after releasing "Koi no Tsubomi", Kumi has released a new single, and not just a normal single, but a quadruple A-side single. Kumi does it all, from J-Rock to J-R&B to J-Pop she started with as an artist in the beginning. I really enjoyed all four songs, but my favourite is still "Juicy", It has such a great beat in it, I can't resist it. I really like the idea for using another storyline in all of her four PV's, just as she did for "Best ~Second Session~", "You, Feel & Lies". After all, this single is worth buying because you will get all four singles on the first disc and on the other disc you will find all four PV's on DVD format, first pressing also includes the "Maroc Off Shot" as a bonus on the DVD for Kumi's first photobook! June 30, 2006 Heartsdales - The LegendAfter five years as a duo together, Rum & Jewels announced the end of Heartsdales, they will split up on September 2, 2006. So here it is, THE LEGEND. A "Best Of" album that consists of all the work together from the 1st single "So Tell Me" to the latest single "Stay". The DVD will contain all PV's for all the singles they released as Heartsdales. The album will also contain two bonus tracks: "GET DRUNK featuring Mummy-D (RHYMESTER)", "Paradise featuring Miliyah Kato" and the DVD a video from "ARTIMAGE NIGHT 2005 @ Studio Coast" as a bonus. I've heard that the bonus tracks on the album/DVD are only for the "First Pressing", but I'm not for sure. If you're new to Heartsdales this is the perfect oppertunity to get to know them. May 18, 2006 BoA - OutgrowIf you don't own any of BoA's singles from "Do The Motion", "Make A Secret", "Dakishimeru" or "Everlasting" this album is really amazing! If you do own one or even all of her four singles than this album is not that special. Otherwise there are six new songs on this album (including "First Snow"). Okay, that doesn't mean this album is bad, because I really enjoyed the new and familiar songs from BoA. BoA is back with a great new album that shows how she matured and grown in the last years from the 'girl next door' to an amazing lady in J-Pop, you can also see this back in the cover artwork and CD-booklet. The pictures look amazing! The DVD includes full PV's for "Do The Motion" to "Everlasting". Only the 'Videoclip Making & Off shot' was a little bit short. Did you find this review helpful? May 17, 2006 Misono - VSTo be honest, before I met Misono I never heard of her former group 'Day After Tomorrow'. But when I heard this single is was surprised I liked it! It has a lot of rock influences on it that I usually would ignore. The song is so promising and energetic. The PV for "VS" is based on "Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs", with a mean witch and of course Snow White played both by Misono. It's really funny! The B-side song on "VS" is a lovely rock-ballad that I (personally) think would be a great single as well if it was the A-Side. Since Avex Trax top star Koda Kumi is her big sister, I think Kumi has to watch out for Misono, because she could be a great star as well in the future... Did you find this review helpful? I personally think that this dvd is not worth US$44.49 (sure, if you pay US$44.49 you will have the Japan Version, but that's not the point). This concert is good, but not great. I really enjoyed Namie in this concert. She sings very good live and her dancing is also great, but she looks a little bit weird with some of her outfits. In magazines and photoshoots she always looks amazing and sexy, but she doesn't look her best at some parts of the concert. After all, if you're intend to buy this DVD, buy the Region 3 version and spare some money to buy (for example) Namie's new single "Can't Sleep, Can't Eat, I'm Sick / Ningyo"! If you're a new fan to Jolin's music, than this is definitely a must buy! It includes all her hits from the last couple of years. Okay, it seems that Jolin is releasing two new albums (to get more money), but I think it has to do something with the fact that Jolin is now signed by Capitol and not at Sony BMG anymore... But what does it matter. I still enjoyed this release, because the "Best Selection" includes two new songs, a bonus DVD and the Preorder edition also comes with an amazing photobook that represents Jolin as the star she is now! May 16, 2006 Koda Kumi - Koi no TsubomiWOW! This new single from Kumi really sounds good. Yes, it's indeed cute, but that don't make it a bad song! Sure, she released some several cute singles in the past, but personal I don't think they look the same comparing to "Koi no Tsubomi". The PV for this single is very cute, colourful, magical and still sexy. If you're in the mood for a 'feel good' song, you should definitely listen or even buy this single! May 16, 2006 Jolin Tsai - Dancing DivaThis is something I waited a long time for and I must say I'm pretty happy with Jolin's new album. On the new album you can hear Jolin's more mature sound and feeling for her songs. It is full with up-tempo songs, a little bit rock and don't forget her amazing ballads! I especially love the songs "Dancing Diva" (Track 2), "Attraction Of Sexy Lips" (Track 5) and "Love In The Shape Of A Heart" (Track 6). I can't wait for the 2nd version of this album, that will probably include a DVD with all her MV's, because the MV for "Dancing Diva" looks amazing with some great dancing! If you're not a Jolin fan or you're new to her and thinking about buying this album, you should do it, because this album will NOT disappoint you!

May 16, 2006 Can't Sleep... / NingyoAfter listening to "Can't Sleep, Can't Eat, I'm Sick" I immediately fall in love with it. The song is very catchy and funky. For "Ningyo" I must say it took me a while to get used to it and became to like it, but it's a great cover from NOKKO's hit from 1994. Namie did a great job! The PV for "Can't Sleep, Can't Eat, I'm Sick" looks a little bit simple, but you will get over it, because the PV for "Ningyo" is the real treat on this DVD. November 6, 2005 Amuro Namie - White Light / Violet SauceThe first single after her succesfull album "Queen Of Hip-Pop" and I must say it's a pretty good one. White Light is just lovely. The MV is gorgeous and you will get the Christmas spirit of it. Violet Sauce on the other hand is just dark and mysterious. I LOVE IT! The song fits perfectly with the action movie Sin City. Some parts in the MV looks like Heartsdales MV "I See You" with the car BoA is riding/singing in. I think she has a good change to score with this dance song, it's very catchy!
