Star Fox Command (US Version)
October 3, 2006 Starfox is back!(and it's goodI penned this game down as one of my must-buys for the ds....and i wasn't disappointed.
One big change is that this game is no longer on-rails. Instead u get to free-roam in a square environment. Some of my friends were displeased with this, but i found it to be a rather good change- but fights are no longer as fast and furious as they used to be.
The graphics are on-par with the n64 game, which is not bad at all. The controls took a little time to get used to (since manouver is done by touch screen) but once figured it's easy to handle.
Another big change is the incorporation of a turn-based strategy element (think Advance wars)which adds freshness to the game.
Overall, buy it if u liked the n64 game. It won't disappoint.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
October 3, 2006 Initial G for Great!
I played this in an arcade in HK. Then i decided to buy the psp version.
This game is really awesome. Many aspects are true to the anime. E.g. the music (loved the DogFight intro), the cars, the techniques.
The cars look rather rough-edged though, meaning the graphics could've been better. But i usually play in wind-screen mode anyway so it doesn't bother me much.
The music really gets you in the mood. Buy this and prepare for the ride of your life!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Love Undercover 3 (Hong Kong Version)
October 3, 2006 Not as good as 1 and 2Having watched 1&2, i was expecting great things from this one. But NO. This title turned out to be disappointing. I like Fiona's music, but her acting still needs alot of improvement.
But it's not Fiona's fault that this film is bad, it was the plot that totally killed it! There was nothing special/exciting about it at all. Moreover, what's with all the silly special effects?: e.g- big-head/ electricity.
The Japanese guy wasn't bad. It's obvious that the director tried to find a DanielWu no.2. But he just didn't get enough scenes.
Overall, watch to compare only. Don't expect a good ride.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

October 3, 2006 averageNot read the comics b4, but picked this up cos it's obviously a kungfu flik.
Donnie's martial arts are as good as usual. On the other hand i found Nicholas' acting to be rather wooden. Shawn wasn't bad, but his character wasn't explored enough. I didn't like it when they 'suddenly' learnt their special techniques near the end. It could've been more detailed.
Overall, worth a look for the fight scenes. The plot and their long hair is rather laughable though.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Justin Lo - One Good Show! Hong Kong Coliseum Live Karaoke (2VCD)
October 3, 2006 Justin-credible concertNot a flashy concert: not many dancers/stunts etc. Just pure good songs to listen to. Justin's live singing skill is really not bad at all.
Love the karaoke feature on this. Great!Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

October 2, 2006 Feels slightly differentI'm a Jay fan and i own all his cds. My first impression, after listening to the whole cd, is that the first half of the album blew me away while the second half was kinda...well...required more time to get into. That's cos all the hit songs are placed at the beginning of the album while the slow and familiar ballad type songs are placed at the back.
My favorite tracks are definately the first three. You will instantly recognise track1 as a Jay song. The added type-writer sound effects and female voice adds a sense of mystery to the song.
I've been listening to track2 non-stop. The beat is catchy and the lyrics are meaningful (although a little mushy).
I wanted to see Jay sing more duets, so i was curious about track3. It's good, but like others say, the other guy (Fei YuQing) does sing quite a large amount of this song. At least it sounds good.
Track4 is the fast-type song that most Jay albums will have. It's catchy but the chorus disappoints.
Tracks 5, 7 and 8 are the usual ballad songs. I kinda like these even though nothing new is offered.
Track 6 is quite an upbeat song too and is well worth a listen. I'm still in the process of trying to get-into tracks 9 and 10. Track10 sounds kinda boring tho.
Overall, another decent album from Jay. Non-Jay fans will frown as there is nothing extraordinary. However, Jay has already experimented many music types already: it is therefore obvious that nothing hugely different can arise from his music. If this was his first album, however, it may have rocked too.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

August 29, 2006 Go Jay!!!Heard another new song recently: the Motorola advertisement song 'BenCaoGangMu' (Herbalist Manual). This new album is gonna be hot!
I think HuDieJi has been renamed as 1983NianXiaoXiang and may be included in this album.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

August 23, 2006 Can't wait!I've already heard 2 great songs: QianLiZhiWai and HuDieJi. Can't wait to check out the 'street-style' music that Jay's been talking about and many other songs he's cooked-up for this album. Jay-forever! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

August 22, 2006 Mind soothing songsI'm not a huge fan of Andy, but I also listen to his music regularly. Therefore, I feel that my review will be free from bias.
The style of Andy's albums have changed a lot since his early days. The feel of this album is similar to TeaOrCoffee and RuGuoYouYiTian: thus forming a trilogy. I was amazed to find out that Pong Nan had made a huge contribution to the production of this album: xtra praise to him.
Moreover, Track 1 was also composed by Pong Nan. The style of this song is very similar to the previous song he wrote for Andy: ChangYanDao. The melody is peaceful and soothing: definately on par with ChangYanDao.
I didn't really like the hard-rocking Track 3 however. Despite many people praising the lyrics and the large radio broadcasting frequency of this song, I feel that this song is overrated. The lyrics are indeed meaningful and the melody is not bad, but I still feel that this song is not suitable for Andy. On the other hand, I feel that the soft-rock Track 4 suits Andy much better and is one of the better tracks.
Other outstanding tracks on this album include Track 2, 5, and 10: all are ballads, with 5 and 10 being the canto and mando versions of the same song respectively.
The rest of the songs (6,7,8,9) are also ballads. These songs are worth a listen, but are nothing special. Track 7 was composed by Ivana Wong and she also performs in the background: not bad.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

Mario Basketball 3 on 3 (Japan Version)
Mario Basketball 3 on 3 (Japan Version) Nintendo DS
(1)Our Price: US$47.99Usually ships within 7 - 14 daysAugust 14, 2006 Awful controlsMario spin-off games always work, don't they? Previous games like Mario Tennis and Mario Soccer have sold like hotcakes just because the Mario characters are present with all the usual powerups like strength-enhancing mushrooms etc.
And now we have this: Mario Hoops/Basketball. The idea is quite attractive, but hardly original. Nevertheless, my guess is this game will still sell well when it hits the US.
The graphics in this game are good: for DS standards, that is, and very colorful to look at. The usual Mario characters are present with a few guest characters from Square enix (final fantasy) that requires unlocking.
The Japanese edition is very import friendly: menus are kept minimal and tutorials have clear instructions.
The reviewer feels that the biggest let-down is the control system. Movement through use of the D-pad and passing & shooting through slashing movements with the stylus across the touch-screen. There are many techniques to learn and you'll remember how to perform them quickly. However, a lot of practice is required to be able to perform the techniques accurately. Using the stylus and touch-screen, a large amount of error in command input can be expected: you want to perform a certain move, but the ds does something else. There is therefore quite a steep learning curve to this game, making it unsuitable for very young kids and those who are unfamiliar with the stylus&touch-screen. This weakness is more apparent in the harder stages of the game where the CPU skillfully whoops your butt while you can't even lay a tackle on them!
Conclusion: don't expect to be able to get the hang of this game instantly like mario kart.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

August 11, 2006 Beautiful Album Indeed!!!All of DT's previous albums have been mega hits. Compared to his previous albums this one has a lot more slow-medium speed songs with themes mainly about the beauty of love. Those of you who are expecting a repeat of the fast and banging Black Tangerine album will be disappointed. But for those who love DT's love songs (who doesn't? :p) will fall in love with this beauty.
One cannot discuss track 2 without mentioning DT's previous song MoonOverMyHeart. Once again DT has injected RnB into a classic chinese song. The song is catchy and definately on par with the latter: a very good intro.
Track 3- Powerful love song similar to AiHenJianDan. Lyrics match the theme of the album exactly. This song is simply Too Beautiful!!!
Track 4- Guitar based, fast paced, and rather catchy: not bad. Track 5- another beautiful ballad: just gotta love these.
Track 6 is similar to Run Away as the lyrics also talk about pursuing one's dream. The jazzy tune of this song makes it super refreshing and outstanding.
Track 7 reminds me alot of DT's song Regular Friends since the tune is largely just plain guitar music with some harmonica: a simple song that can bring deep feelings- lovely!
Track 8's arrangement is slightly similar to a jazzy version of Let'sFallInLove. Quite good and DT's screaming voice near the end makes this song one to check-out.
Track 9- Yep, another slow ballad: but what a ballad!!! The tune is very mellow, the chorus memorable, with David's voice bringing the song to its best: wonderful!
I've never heard DT sing a duet before so I was very excited to hear Track 10 featuring Jolin Tsai. The song is bouncy and the lyrics revolve around marriage. Surprisingly, the voices of DT and Jolin mix very well together. This track is definatly worth a listen.
Track 11 is, as stated in the name, So Beautiful. An RnB love song. Definately a song that makes this album worth buying. DT was smart to reveal this song, along with Track 2, before the album was released to hook the fans:p
Track 12 is, you've guessed it!, another slow love song. The background in this is mainly piano and relies largely on David's voice to bring out its best. The parts where David shouts out 'Bu Ai~~~' will make you swoon.
DT's previous album, Great Leap, contained many songs named with a female's name. Similarly, Track 13 is named Olia (Spanish? I dunno). This song is very similar to Catherine with DT continuosly singing out Olia in the chorus. Not as outstanding as the other songs in this album, but a soft and mellow ending to the cd.
At the end of the album the sentence 'Men? Police men?' appeared. I've no idea what this has got to do with the album. Maybe a hint about his next album? Or some sort of message about Humanity?
Conclusion: Love DT's love songs? Get it?Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
August 8, 2006 Quite good \ (^o^) /
I have their 1st and 2nd album, so it's unsurprising that i'll get this one.
Faye's singing skills are as good as always and it's clear that they're trying different styles and a duet. However, it's still quite obvious that this album is not as good as their smash debut. I miss those powerful songs in their first album. Tracks 3 and 5 in this album are good, but still lacking a bit of 'umph'. Overall, a very good effort and definately worth a try.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

August 6, 2006 3 Good songs
Unbelieveble! Jay actually sings really well live in these 3 songs. After watching his The One concert i didn't think much of his live singing skills, but these few songs show that he's improved. My only complaint is that this cd is rather expensive: there's only 3 songs and I'm not really bothered with the mvs. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
August 6, 2006 Jay's 1st and best cd
This album is da bomb. Jay's first and finest piece of work ever. I still listen to it a lot even though I have all his albums up-to-date. Get it! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Mario Kart DS (US Version)
August 5, 2006 Nintendo's done it again!Mario kart never fails to impress. It is simply a winning formula.
The graphics in MK DS are colorful and pretty to look at. And the gamplay remains the same.....so those of you who are familiar with this series will become immediate experts ;pDid you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
JUMP SUPER STARS (Japan Version)
JUMP SUPER STARS (Japan Version) Nintendo DS
(1)Our Price: US$49.99Usually ships within 7 - 14 daysAugust 5, 2006 LOADS of characters!I bought this game because I've watched a large number of animes and thought that it'd be cool if all these characters got pitted against each other.
Indeed, the idea is really really cool, but I found the gameplay rather disappointing. You start-off with the most boring character: Luffy from one-piece, many more characters are quickly unlocked however. But, I've been playing this game for quite a while now but can't seem to unlock the better characters.
The range of moves for each character is very limited in this game and some characters are obviously stronger than others.
The biggest diappointment lies in the battle stages and music. The stages are all the same: consisting of a few platforms. There are no stages that replicate a location within an anime. The camera does not zoom in or out, therefore it is difficult to tell where your opponent is. The music are just simple tunes....no theme songs are present:(

(1)Our Price: US$56.99Usually ships within 7 - 14 daysAugust 5, 2006 Battle mayhem!!!If you're a bleach fan and own a DS, then this is a must-have!
Don't be put off just because this is a japanese title. The menus are easy to navigate withIchigo saying out-loud what the menus say.
The gameplay is fast & furious!!! You can have battles with 3 other cpus at once for really mad battles. A wide selection of characters are available with cool special moves that are faithful to the anime: the Bankaisupermoves are awesome.....though some are a bit over-the-top.
The various modes will keep you busy for a very long time.
Sing cart D L play is possible with this game too. However, this feature is rather disappointing as D L-time is long with no rematch option....so after each battle your partner needs to D L again :(

August 5, 2006 Sexy as hell!!!This is the sleekest piece of gear I've ever purchased! Glad I didn't buy the original DS as it is totally ugly.
The display screen is capable of blinding light levels: you can play in the dark with this thing! The touch screen of mines is rather clicky though, but doesn't affect gameplay. Moreover, there is no region coding of games so you can import the latest titles from Japan.....YAyyy!!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
