It stars Yada Akiko (Yuki Aoi) and Oda Yuji (Kenji) as co-workers who work at a sporting goods manufacturing company and they are neighbors living in the same building, their apartments are right next to each other. And in their apartments, there is one single door - that is a direct entrance to each other's apartment.
Kenji is used to seeing Yuki looking professional and having good manners. But one day he sees a photo of her on a motorcycle with a bunch of bad looking girls, all dressed in black leather and wearing heavy make-up. After discovering this, he looks at Yuki in a totally different light.
But as Kenji gets to know more about Yuki, he starts to fall in love with her. And he realizes that she is not the person that he saw in that photograph.

June 3, 2006 Accepting Cultural Differences"Friends" is a very beautiful short drama (a TBS and MBC collaboration) about two people who fall in love with each other and face conflicts due to their cultural differences. Fukada Kyoko plays a Japanese department store sales girl, who goes to Hong Kong for vacation. Won Bin plays a South Korean film student who goes to Hong Kong to film a short documentary film. Someone takes Fukada's purse and she thinks Won Bin is the one who took it. She chases after him, but later to find out that she made a mistake. She is left with nothing and does not know how to get back to her hotel. He takes her to his aunt's Korean restaurant and treats her to a meal. During this meal, they discover they have the same name (same Chinese character in their names). Later, he asks her to be in his film and she agrees. They continue to meet for the next couple of days. Even though they cannot understand each other very much, they have developed a close bond. They exchange emails.
Fukada goes back to Japan and Won Bin goes back to South Korea. She emails to him in Japanese, his friend translates for him. His friend helps him to email her back in Japanese. Later she finds out that he does not know Japanese. She decides to learn Korean, because she wants to (that's the power of love) and because she wants him to write the emails himself.
Later they face problems in their relationship due to their cultural differences. But their love for each other is so strong that they learn, accept and adapt to each others cultural differences.
This is one of the best shows about people who come from different backgrounds and overcoming those differences because they want to have a relationship. They learn about each other's cultures and develop a richer and fuller relationship.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

June 3, 2006 The Power of Youth"Nobuta wo Produce" stars Kamenashi Kazuya, Yamashita Tomohisa, and Maki Horikita. Shuji (Kamenashi) and Akira (Yamashita) are best friends who attend the same high school. They both want to help the new transfer student who is constantly being picked on by school bullies and has no confidence to speak up, that student is Kotani Nobuko (Maki). They give her a make-over and go shopping with her to buy new clothes and help her to create a new image. They nickname her 'Nobuta'. After this make-over, Shuji and Akira "promotes" her through a reality tv show and making little pig trinkets to sell.
At first it was kind of slow in the beginning. Then in disc 3, the show started to get more interesting and then the pace picked up quite quickly. This is a good show about friendship and trying to fit in.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

June 2, 2006 Fave American television showWonder Woman is one of my favorite American television shows. Starring the beautiful, elegant and charming Lynda Carter (former Miss USA in the 1970's). Wonder Woman (aka Princess Diana, aka Diana Prince) is actually an Amazon princess who lives on Paradise Island (an island filled with only women, no men). All these ladies on this island are very strong and have very long life spans. Lyle Waggoner plays Major Steve Trevor, an American war hero, his plane crashes near Paradise Island. Princess Diana rescues him and she learns about the war against the Nazis. One lady from the island is to be chosen to go to America to help fight this war, in order to do so, the ladies who are interested in going, have to join in a competition, in which they compete in sports and other events that will test their knowledge and strength. Princess Diana secretly enters the contest and wins. She goes to America as Diana Prince.
The first season is set in the 1940's, America is fighting against the Nazis in World War II.
I like this show a lot. It shows that women can be smart, strong and powerful. Wonder Woman was everything. She was smart, strong, powerful and yet even though she is exquisitely beautiful, people never feel jealous of her. June 2, 2006 Fairy tale"The Princess Diaries" is a fairy tale movie about a 15-year-old ordinary high school girl, named Mia Thermopolis, who is not popular, not good at school, not outgoing, and does not like attention. The kids at school like to pick on her and make fun of her. She has only one best friend, named Lilly Moscovitz. Lilly's brother, Michael, is secretly in love with Mia. He's the only guy who can see her good heart. But Mia has a crush on the school's most popular guy, named Josh. Mia's grandmother, who is the Queen of Genovia, comes to San Francisco to tell Mia that she is the princess and only heir to the throne of Genovia. Mia does not take this news too well... but eventually she is going to her grandmother's home for "princess lessons". Her grandmother hires a staff to help turn into a princess. The whole school and general public goes wild when they find out that she is a princess. Josh uses her to gain fame. That is when she discovers what a jerk he really is. She realizes that Michael is the true prince she is seeking.
"The Princess Diaries" movie is based on the novels written by Meg Cabot. I love this movie. It is one of the best modern-day Cinderella movies. I love how they transform Mia into a princess. She goes from being a clutz to being beautiful and graceful (not only in appearance, but also inside her heart, and she gains confidence in herself). The theme of the movie is that you should have the strength and confidence to go after your dreams and be what you want to be. Mia wasn't too sure about being a princess, because she didn't think she could be one. But she gained confidence and wisdom, which gave her the courage to take the position and became a princess.

June 1, 2006 Cute & Funny"Kimi wa Petto" ('You are my Pet') is a tv drama, which stars Koyuki and Matsumoto Jun. Koyuki plays a successful and strong woman, named Sumire, and works at a newspaper. Her boyfriend (Nagano Hiroshi) broke up with her. He had an affair with an ordinary girl. Too him, Sumire was too perfect. One evening, she finds a banana cardboard box with a young boy inside, badly beaten up. She takes him upstairs to her apartment. She nurses his wounds and cooks some rice soup for him. Who is this boy? His name is Goda Takeshi (Matsumoto Jun). She lets him stay at her place, under the condition that he will be her pet. He agrees and she names him "Momo". Every time he tries to go beyond a kiss & hug, Sumire will put him in his place. She is much older than him and considers him a kid (most of the time, she sees him as a pet dog). Whenever she is sad, she will go to him. But when she is happy, she forgets about him. Is this fair to Momo? After all, he is a young man, not a pet dog. He has feelings too.
"Kimi wa Petto" is a very cute & funny tv drama. About two people who come together because of their current circumstances. June 1, 2006 Very FUNNY!Suekko Chounan Ane San Nin (The eldest boy & his three sisters). This tv drama stars Okada Junichi, Fukatsu Eri, Kaku Chikako, Harada Tomoyo, Koyuki, Kishi Keiko. Haruko (Fukatsu) on her 30th birthday, she meets Ichiro (Okada) who is 25 years old. During the party, her friends are laughing and keeps asking her how old she is, and she playfully says "I'm 25 years old!" This catches Ichiro's attention. When all her friends go off, she and Ichiro are the only ones at the table. They have a short conversation. Later, they start to date. Haruko wants to tell him that she is actually 30 years old, 5 years older than him. But every time she tries, he interrupts her and she ends up just smiling. One day, Ichiro proposes marriage to her. What is she to do? She tells him that she is 30 years old. This shocks him a bit. She runs to the park and looking up at the dark sky says, "What is 5 years?!" He finds her and says, "Yes. What is 5 years?" He still wants to marry her. But little does she know that when she marries him, she thinks she and he will only live with his mother. All his 3 sisters, come back to live with them. They boss Haruko around and are so mean to her. Ichiro does little to protect her from them.
This drama is hilariously funny. Lots of funny dialogues and gestures, especially when Ichiro and Haruko get into arguments. This drama is about loving and accepting your better half's good and bad habits, his/her imperfections, his/her family members, and trying to make the best out of the situation because you love them.

June 1, 2006 Very good drama"Sore wa Totsuzen Arashi no Youni" is a very good tv drama, which starred Yamashita Tomohisa and Esumi Makiko. Yamashita plays a high school/dance instructor, named Fukazawa Takuma. Esumi plays a married woman who works at a magazine, named Ogawa Kozue. One rainy day, when Kozue is sent out to deliver some documents, she sees Takuma standing in the middle of the street with a dazed look. A car is coming, she pushes him to safety and rescues him. All her documents are scattered on the wet street. She picks them up and then follows him to a dance studio. He tells her that he is a dance instructor at this studio. (Also, he is a high school student.) The first time that they danced together, she was overcome by a strange passionate feeling that overwhelmed her. Later, they keep meeting. She realizes that she cares for him very much, even thinks she might be in love with him. She tries to fight her feelings for him because she is married.
This is a very good tv drama. I enjoyed it very much. There was not one dull moment. That is why it finished quite fast. When you watch a good drama, the time passes by very quickly. I watched this drama twice in a row and want to watch it again. A very good drama about two people who have strong caring feelings for each other, but don't act on them due to the pressures of society and their own conscience.

June 1, 2006 Great song"Masshiro" is a great song. It's really beautiful. It is the main theme song for the Japanese TV drama "Sore wa Totsuzen Arashi no Youni" ('It was Suddenly like a Storm'), which starred Yamashita Tomohisa and Esumi Makiko. About a married woman who falls in love with a high school student/dance instructor. This song is another classic Oda Kazumasa. The music is very good, it almost reminds me of his song for the tv drama 'Saigo no Koi'. The music for "Masshiro" is a very soothing and relaxing song.

Wallace Zhong has a very good voice and he sings very well. This is a 2 CDs boxset, which contains his hit songs from 1995 to 2000. The music is very pop. There are a number of danceable tunes. Some of the songs, you can hear him sounding very happy, like he is having fun singing them. I first discovered him in the Taiwanese TV drama "Tou Tou Ai Shang Ni" aka 'In Love' in which he sang the main theme song, that song is not in here. That song is on his most recent "Soul Man" CD. But this best collection double CD set is a very nice compilation of his early works.

Kaneshiro Takeshi is amazingly talented when it comes to languages. He can speak: Cantonese, Mandarin, Taiwanese, Japanese and English. This CD is a compilation of his best songs. He sang most of the songs in Mandarin, a few in Cantonese and one in Japanese. His voice is nice and his pronunciation is pretty good. The music is very pop. There are some fun dance tracks. This is Jo Koo's first CD album. It is okay. The music style is R&B. Her singing is average. The song "Wishing Tree" (track #5) is from the movie 'Final Romance' which starred Edison Chen and Amanda Strang, set in Japan. The song is probably one of the better songs on this album. My two most most favorite tracks are "Here Me Cry" and "True True". May 30, 2006 I love Meteor GardenMeteor Garden is my number one favorite Taiwanese TV drama series. The love relationship between Dao Ming Xi and Shan Cai is memorable. It's great how Dao Ming Xi's personality changes because of his love for Shan Cai. He used to be very mean, violent and barbaric. Once he fell in love with her and started to hang out with her more, he became gentler, more kind & caring about other people. He wants to change and become a better person for himself and for her.
The English subtitles to this version is somewhat decent. Sometimes they translate the female "Ta" as 'He' when it should be 'She'. But if you watch the show closely, you will know (based on the situation of the current scene) that when the translation says 'he', you will know that they mean 'she'. If you know Mandarin, then it would be easier.
This is a great show. The set contains 5 double-sided DVDs. The sound and picture quality are excellent. And on the last DVD, there are some extras and behind-the-scenes footage.

Body Will Sing (New Version)
May 30, 2006 Good dance CDVanness Wu's "Body Will Sing" CD+CD Extra is a good album with some nice dance and R&B tracks. I think his Mandarin pronunciation is okay. His singing technique is a little above average. The CD Extra can only be played on the computer, which features the Pepsi commercial and the music video for the Pepsi song.
