Empress Dowager Tze Hei was originally a young and inexperienced girl named Wai Yuk-lan. By chance, she meets the sixth prince Kung Yik-yan and they fall in love with each other. But it is a pity that Wai will soon go into the imperial palace to become the emperor's maid. Kung has no choice but to give up his relationship with Wai. After Wai has gone into the palace, she is treated coldly by others because she is unsophisticated. But she is fortunate to be served by Tai Nau and Siu On-chi.
As Emperor Ham-fung feels that he is controlled by eight courtiers led by Suk Shun in dealing with every affair, he summons Wai to his room in order to vent his anger. Wai is ignorant of sex and the emperor is so dissatisfied that he orders Wai must not get pregnant. Wai suffers a great blow and when she learns that her beloved cat is killed by a person hired by the emperor's concubine Lai, she murders the killer. She is encouraged and advised by Kung and decides to get advice from famous prostitutes on how to conquer the emperor in sex. Wai takes the opportunity to go near the emperor and is finally able to win his favour. She becomes the emperor's concubine in one leap and is named Yi. As soon as she is promoted, she takes revenge on Lai. As Wai is involved in politics, she invites dissatisfaction from the courtiers.
When the united army of the foreigners attack the imperial capital, Emperor Ham-fung has no choice but to flee to and seek refuge in Rehe. Kung stays in the capital to resist foreign attack. Meanwhile, the emperor is critically ill and only hopes that Tze Hei will co-operate with the empress to deal with the treacherous courtiers in the imperial court. After the death of the emperor, Tze Hei is able to re-establish her relationship with Kung. Suk Shun and others arrange a killer to assassinate Tze Hei. But Tze Hei is helped by Kung who, on the contrary, succeeds in eliminating the courtiers one by one. But as Tze Hei has poisoned the empress to death, Kung is dissatisfied. Although Tze Hei is in power for 60 years, it is not known if she is happy or not.

Pseudo raunchy drama

Interesting storyline with some goosebump moments of the cruelty imposed upon the main character, leading to her own motivation towards cruelty. However, I think the draw for most people may be the hope of seeing some raunchy sex scenes of the main actors, there really aren't any. Actually gave my copy away. |

Good story
| This is a good movie with a good story line..but i dont think its an adult movie..there was not much nudity or sexual act in these movie..buts its GOOD.. |
